Hey!

My work computer crashed a week ago, so I got a new hard drive and got everything going again except for my dual monitors. I work at a small CPA firm, no IT department, and have tried searching the internet, but all the responses are over my head.

I go into control panal and when I move the monitor icons to the correct order it says "the monitor you've selected is currently disabled... would you like to enable it?" I click "enable" and it goes back to being gray/out-of-order and I'm stuck at the same spot.

I looked on the microsoft website and they have detailed instructions for enabling dual monitors, they show

Control Panel
Display
Setting
Display (drop down)
Dual monitors... mine says default monitor or plug and play monitor.

So I'm pretty worthless with computers... I use mac at home...

At work I'm running a Dell Dimension E520, the second monitor I'm trying to hook up is a MAG Innovision...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

This is a good thread for any computer questions. Just provide a nice boob shot as payment.

Are both monitors plugged in to 1 video card, or is there 2 cards?

I don't know. How can I check how many video cards there are?

One is plugged in to the VGA or whatever and the other is a VGA to USB...
