Interview Insanity

26 May 2008

Back in Vegas. Costa Rica was an awesome time. I mostly vegged with Emely and her family. Her family has a lot in common with mine, especially her mother's cooking, killer. I considered staying an extra day to watch the "big game" in Costa Rica: Suprisa vs La Liga. My schedule was way packed, though, so I couldn't do it. Surprisa won 1-0 which made everyone very happy.

When I got home I vegged for the rest of the day with plans of getting back on track on Monday. I watched American Idol (David won), 20/20, 60 Minutes, etc.

This morning I jumped right back on the treadmill and ran 3 miles. After that I headed out for a haircut and just told her to cut it short. I'll be wearing a Pokerstars.net hat pretty much everyday for the next couple months so I figured I might as well stay cool with a short do. It looks so horrible I find it funny actually, lol. She really did a number on it. Might has well of just put a bowl on my head, get out the clippers, and go nuts.

When I got home I worked on the golf drills that my coach has me doing and have added 15 yards to my 7-iron. It was pretty sick after not hitting a ball for a week. I just focused on keeping my right leg firm when I go back and that created the tension I guess I was lacking for power. Grip is still a major nemesis for me, but eventually I'll get it right.

After golf I hit the swimming pool for the first time this year. It was a bit chilly, but I could handle it. Later tonight, my interview schedule starts. We've schedule a ton of radio interviews to help promote PokerVT. It's a great opportunity to get the word out on the site and it's something I'm comfortable doing. Here's what it looks like:

I have done lots of radio interviews before, and you can always gauge the hosts poker knowledge based on the questions they ask. When I get a question like, "So what's your best hand? Did you ever get a Royal Flush?" then I know I'm dealing with some newbies, lol. That's probably the one question that annoys me most actually.

I'll obviously be talking about PokerVT, but I'll also be discussing this year's WSOP, as well as my affiliation with the worlds biggest online poker room, PokerStars.

I'm probably going to play some online poker today, might shoot a couple videos for PokerVT. I'm thinking about doing some $10-$20 or $25-$50 no limit hold'em 6 max videos. Up until now I've shot exclusively $100-$200 cash and heads up sit n' gos, but I plan on adding all types of videos eventually, including PLO, and HORSE.
