i was thinking that since utg was the aggressor on the flop maybe i should check raise the turn but with that many people and that card hitting i felt i have no guarantee where the action might come from. good thinking?

I think that may be a good idea. Reads help, some people I play with will keep their lead every time it's checked to them, some won't.

The 5h is a pretty serious scare card for a lot of hands there though.

wow, what a passive table. If I didn't get half I would be very pissed with my splitter for not raising to charge the flushes and sets.

I like it - once you make your hand you're betting for value. Into that many players you really should.
