So I usually have no problem making it deep into the 2nd hour of these things when there are usually between 40-60 players left. My basic strategy is to play tight early and double up through as many of the donkeys that I can. As blinds escalate I usually try to steal a little more and sometimes it works and sometimes you just can't ever get some of these folks to fold no matter what they hold. This is where my leak is. My last 2 or 3 of these things I have gone into the third hour as a top 10 stack but then get coldecked and get too scared to try to steal because I know these people won't ever fold.

Basically I was just trying to get some input from someone that consistently cashes in these tournies as to how they play late when they hit the cold deck. I always end up with a micro-stack and have to shove in my chips with something nasty usually between the 13th-24th place range. Anyway, hopefully you know what I'm sayin.......thanks for any in put!

ps... There are a lot of us micro-fcpers that have been playing these like crazy lately (clingfree, kinger, beaverstyle, tuckermitchell, litlebullet, etc).......maybe we could use this thread or start another just as a permanent 4.40 180 thread for strategy tips to help each other out??? just a thought

My strategy for these is basically the same. If the table isn't going too crazy during the 10/20 and 15/30 levels I will play some weaker hands trying to hit a big flop, but stay pretty tight for the first hour, playing my big hands rather aggressive.

I usually run into the same problem where it seems like it is difficult to steal pots when it gets down to between 45-60 players. If I'm not getting any cards I will mostly shy away from trying to steal and pick up the aggression when it gets down to the final 4 tables. I would say just keep doing what you have been doing, and soon enough everything will fall into place.

Is there something wrong with this thread? (aka the bible of 180-man strategy guides...)
