1. If a potato chip falls on the ice during a game, is it considered an Ice Chip?
No, it's called an automatic fan ejection for littering.
2. If the Leafs win the Cup next year will all the naysayers just shut up already?
Yes, but the odds of this happening are somewhat akin to the odds that I'll win the WSOP next year.
3. If NHL hockey leaves the US all together, will anyone care?
Yes, despite your own personal opinion there are millions of hockey fans in the US and the number is growing.
4. If there is a European division will the 12 hour flight from LA be a deterrent?
No, it's only a little worse than the trip from Vancouver to Miami or vice-versa.
5. If Rick Vaive came out of retirement would he score more goals than George Parros?
Probably.
6. If Chris Pronger wins the Cup will the people in Edmonton find out the real truth?
About what? Aliens? JFK? The designated hitter rule?
7. If John Ferguson came to your house would you still talk smack to his face?
I wouldn't call my criticisms "smack talk", just the truth about a struggling franchise that is moving in the wrong direction.
8. If Mario Lemieux decided to man the Pens power play, would he still get 65 pts next year?
Undoubtedly.
9. If there is a new league called PNSA(Professional Nose Picking Association), will it draw more ratings than the NHL?
If we're talking about the US and Canada, no, but I think more Germans would watch the PNSA.
10. If Don Cherry was your uncle , would you be able to out drink him at Thanksgiving Dinner?
Without question, as long as its not beer or wine. I'm a scotch and whiskey guy, with the occasional dabble in vodka, rum and Jaeger. I can't even drink one beer without puking, but put a bottle of Jameson's in front of me and I'll return it nearly empty.

1. If a potato chip falls on the ice during a game, is it considered an Ice Chip?
No, but it would immediately become the 3rd best d-man on the Leafs.
2. If the Leafs win the Cup next year will all the naysayers just shut up already?
Moot; next question.
3. If NHL hockey leaves the US all together, will anyone care?
The telephone company. Imagine all the revenue lost from the lack of long distance phone calls to Toronto to see if a puck crossed the goal line in Phoenix.
4. If there is a European division will the 12 hour flight from LA be a deterrent?
Not if Red Bull is served.
5. If Rick Vaive came out of retirement would he score more goals than George Parros?

In only 23 games played? Probably.
9. If there is a new league called PNPA(Professional Nose Picking Association), will it draw more ratings than the NHL?
It's already airing on C-Span and I hear it sucks.
10. If Don Cherry was your uncle , would you be able to out drink him at Thanksgiving Dinner?
For sure, I'd pace myself until he passed out from the tryptophan in the turkey and then I'd dominate.

I think a couple of years ago the number of kids playing hockey in the US passed that of canada. Obviously, percentagewise it will never pass Canada, but saying people don't care about hockey here is ignorant on your part.

First of all my post is obviously supposed to be funny. Second of all hockey is hardly mentioned among the other major sports. There is no major tv deal, the games that are televised get literally a zero rating. Major hockey towns like Detroit, Chicago and Boston cant sell out their games...
I am a huge hockey fan...My wife is from California and I visit California at least twice a year, and the reality is no body cares about the NHL outside a small group of people.
When I said people dont care I was generalizing the country as a whole...And if you think its not true you are the ignorant one.

I think you should steer clear of the comedy.
A TV deal and people caring about hockey are two different things. Almost everyone that cares about hockey here is pissed about Versus/OLN. Most people are forced to upgrade their cable soley to get this channel. Some others were not even able to get this channel. Also, the US TV deal is awful. In canada, you guys get to watch hockey on basic channels. Yes, some of them are pay-per-view, but we don't have a hockey-night in Canada equivalent. You can't compare apples to oranges, which is the difference between watching hockey in the US and Canada. TV people do have to think about the country as a whole, so the smaller percentage of hockey fans makes it more difficult for hockey to succeed on TV here.
Chicago fans are stuck with a crap owner. Most of the fans there don't want to support that guy. Boston fans also have had awful ownership/player management problems. I'm not sure that trading away one of the top 10 players in the league is going to make the fans happy. Detroit has been having financial problems, so not selling out with high ticket prices, and Pistons in the playoffs too, is not too surprising (to me anyway).
Yes. Hockey is not the number one sport in the US. No duh. Did you notice where I talked about the difference in percentages of US and Canada? Hockey in Canada can be related to football in the US. If you were to take the number of football fans and multiply by 30. But, the number of people who care about hockey is a lot closer than you are making it out to be. There is about 10 times more people in the US as Canada. Lets pretend all 30 million people in Canada care about hockey. This means if 10 percent of people in the US care about hockey, that's about 30 million people. Maybe 5% is more realistic. That's about 15 million people. So, Yes. There's a "few" people would care if hockey left the US.
I'm not sure why you think the percentage of people who care about hockey is more important that the total number. Generalizing this country as a whole is a good way to make yourself look silly, at least in my eyes.
