I have a question regarding Neteller. I want to close my account and open a new one. The one I have was opened in 1998.

The phone number and address which I used to open the account have both changed since then. In order to close the account, Neteller says they either need to call the phone number, or write a letter to the contact details on file for confirmation. Neither of these will work obviously. Talking to their support has been useless and it's like going in circles.

Any advice? Thanks.

I find that neteller takes way too long anyway but from what I know , you are not allowed to have 2 accounts

Right, but I can't even close the one I do have without them "confirming" via one of the methods I mentioned.

I closed an account without them having to do anything that drastic. In fact, I had moved as well, and made the phone call from the apartment where I was living at the time, which was not the address on the account. Actually, I may have used my cell phone, so that could have been it... hmmm.... I've offered little help.

Try updating your address or phone to something like a cell phone or PO Box (something that you don't need to use on the new account). Then wait two to three weeks and close the account. If you must close and open a new one these might be some hoops you can jump through to get to the point you want to.

But... I can't update anything! They have to confirm the update by contacting me through the other info, which isn't going to work. It looks like there is no solution to this without talking some sense into Neteller support and convincing them to close my account.
