whether 77 is best is the question, im not too sure, flat call flop, minraise turn is usually pretty strong and i cant see any hand worse than 77 doing it, only way 77 is good if its against FD or air, which must've been your read

The turn min raise is usually a sign of strength, what's he doing this with that you beat? If he had the spade flush draw and is going to raise he would have on the flop.

I hate playing a pot this big with a pair of 7's. This has to be a bluff way too often for it to be profitable. Unless you've seen this guy playing like an uber donkey I think it's a fold to his raise on the turn, as much as I hate min-raises it looks like you're beat.

Here's what was going through my mind: what plausible hand is the villain representing on the turn? Would he do that with a 10? Is a 2 really a likely holding for his hand?

after looking more and more without knowing anything about the player, it could be a few things

both of which are trying to get advantage on the river, more money into the pot, plus if you show signs of weakness, for example, just calling the min raise, then checking the river, this opens up huge bluff possibilities for villain.

for all he knows, you're probably on AK, AQ type hand.

what kind of hand are you putting him on that you can beat? If he has something like the nut flush draw and wanted to raise why wouldn't he do it on the flop?

You've lead for nearly the pot on the flop and turn, he's got to put you some type of strong hand. It's really a read dependent play, I'd have to had seen him try to pull off something similar to make this call down.
