PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed) converter

2 folds, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Capped with 5 people, whee.

Flop: (21 SB) [2c], [Qs], [Tc] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, Button calls, SB calls.

Turn: (13 BB) [Qh] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 checks, MP3 checks, Button checks.

At this point, I go into check/call mode, thinking someone stayed in AQ/KQ. Luckily no bet though.

River: (13 BB) [4s] (5 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP2 bets, MP3 folds, Button folds, SB calls, Hero calls.

Again, check/call mode. 15:1 odds forces me to call, even though I think I'm probably beat.

Final Pot: 16 BB


Was it wise to slow down here and check/call it down on the turn, or should I have fired on the turn to see where I'm at?

Should I fire on the river after the checking on the turn? I figured my aces were good at that point, as most people at these limits can't wait to bet it when they hit trips, but was still cautious.

Also, folding was never in my mind unless i saw some 3-betting/capping on turn, is that smart?

Any queen would see that same flush draw and bet it. I'd only be suspicious of the SB, since he could have been anticipating your bet to raise.

I'd suspect that MP2 has something along the lines of A/10 and saw nobody betting the queen in light of a flush draw, so he assumed he was good. A/10 is only one step below what you have, if you assume no one has kings or jacks.

edit: actually, considering he 3bet it preflop, both jacks and kings seem plausible. He may have been slow playing a boat (or quads) hoping for someone to hit their flush, and once they missed, fired to get callers.

I'd think it would be unusual for someone to 3bet A/10, but it's not unheard of.

I'm firing at that turn. YOu are either way ahead or way behind. I think you have more then enough value to bet at that, since you will get callers along with it. bet that turn

Alright, thanks for the info. Must not have noticed the flush draw at the time, or was too worried about QQ. If you get raised after betting the turn, do you call then check/call the river?

And btw, sb had 88, MP had 99... I was a little shocked, but it's .25/.50, so eh

You're getting 8.5-1 on your call down. When high card on board pairs and you get a raise, do you really think you are good 8.5-1?

EDIT: 11-1 *at best* (if a couple people call his raise). I still say fold.
