Hey, just wanted to know if I played this hand badly. I'm not the shortest stack, do I sit and fold? Do I fold post flop somewhere? Any input would be appreciated.

Dunno why, this is left out.

Again I'm new, let me know if I made mistakes. Is it correct to just sit here and let short stack get blinded off? Should I have limped in and folded the turn?
Zach6668
I'll leave this in here for a few hours to let the tourney guys get at it, then I'll move it to the O8 forum for the O8 guys.

Just a note on the converter though, you'll have to check the box to include stack sizes, for next time.

Cheers.

With no low possible I dont like the pre-flop raise. Raising for value pre-flop in O8 is dodgy at best, when so much of the hand is determined on the flop. With a hand so close to busting out I think its wrong here. When that flop hits youre playing or half the pot at best and you have to check behind on the flop and fold to aggression on the turn. Trip Aces look so nice, but they are ugly on the inside.

Thanks for the help copernicus. I was hoping to win preflop if nothing else - I guess I have a lot to learn.. I knew I was beat on the turn, so I could have layed it down as played. Should I have limped pf or even folded?

There are much better O8 players around than me, and Im really just trying to apply general tournament principles combined with some knowledge of O8. Hopefully they will comment...gobears where are you?

Yes, definite lay down on the turn. I think PF is a call, because youve got a monster with a flop that has 2 black cards and only 1 low card and a very solid hand with 2 black cards and two low cards.
Sid Simelia
Yeah, gobears, where ya at? Also to Zach or whoever does this belong in tournament or O8?

I think limp PF and throw away the turn is already a lot of help though.

He called with a bunch of babys and turned a weak flush..

Personally, I don't care.

What I've been doing, is leaving them here for about a day for Cop, etc to comment from a tourney strategy point of view, and then I'll move it to O8 for checky, navy, etc to comment.

I'm moving now.

in a tourney setting with apparently quickly escalating blinds, this is a must raise preflop. that's kinda a "oh dear, we're going broke here cuz we have no more chips" flop, though. i don't know if you can do anything differently on the turn/river unless there's a huge jump in payouts approaching.
