Well I live on the east side so I don't get much of the BC buds but on average the weed I get in Windsor is not good, most of it is from grow houses and not necessarily amazing. It does'nt compare to the weed I got in Florida, like not even close in general but also my roomate and 2 best friends were huge pot heads so maybe I was spoiled because of them.

Also I'm going to be moving to Northern California in the next couple months (hopefully) so I will compare then but I'm expecting the best from Florida to be on par.

Yeah, Cane's B+/A- comparison seems valid to me. There is going to be good pot to be found anywhere there are people willing to pay for it.

I play in one that is a 40r/9-10 person tournament consistently with my older brother and a bunch of his random friends and another that is a $100-200 freeze out. Very low key for the most part. As for internet superstars, Sbrounder plays now and then (have never got Tmay to step away from the comp though and come play) and BKice and Toilet played when they were in town, but besides that all you have to worry about is nitty me and a bunch of donks.

On a side note, you will soon realize if you move here that Bay Area poker players, as a whole, suck.

Was down for christmas and had an itch to play so I made my way out to lucky chances and played in the 2-5 straddle game and I was really impressed with the amount of gamble these guys had. I'm definetely looking forward to playing in that game again.

Yeah, they like to gamble lol. It's like LA, but the Bay Area players aren't as aggressive (in their spewing) as the SoCal players.

I've only done shrooms twice. The first time was back in college in Salisbury, MD (eastern shore) when I was 19 and it was the best time ever. The second time was a few years back when I was 23 and it was the worst experience in my life. I was with some friends whom I had not known a long time and was out of my comfort zone. My mind was racing 10000 miles an hour about how bad a person I was for doing drugs then I felt like I was in a crack house. I totally lost base with reality and thought I had lost my mind. I even got so freaked out that I flushed an eighth of weed down the toilet. The next time I do it I will make sure I am with the right group of friends that I am comfortable with so I don't go crazy.

I just recently broke up with my gf of 2 years and I kinda want to pick up and move west. I'm stuck in a shitty home loan but once I get that squared away I'd like to get away from the east coast. Thinking about Arizona or outside of Vegas. Any suggestions??

But you can't really compare eating fresh mushrooms with a steak compared to munching on some nasty shrooms. There isn't much flavor and taste bad but just remember they grow on the underside of a cowpie, lol. They are crunchy and its like chewing on bark. Just wash it down with a little drink and then chew some gum. You're not eating them for the flavor.

Your guys posts about acid and shrooms and the like may have changed my mind. The problem now is finding some. I think I have the enjoyable atmosphere covered.

Also, anyone had any experiences with X? Aforementioned friend tried it a few weeks back at a rave and said he had the time of his life.

I LOVE IT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I've never done it at a rave but have done it at an outdoor concert. Hopefully you have a girl with you because you will love everything and anybody when you are on X. It just puts you in the best mood ever.

Very typical. That's normally what it is unless you buy a bunch. I recommend 2 pills...take one, then an hour or 2 later take another one. It's awesome.

Meh, it depends on the type of x. I really don't like anything speedy, so the x that has more coke etc in it I don't like. I can't recall all the different names for types etc but White Budhha or something similar was one I enjoyed. I always made the mistake of not letting one kick in fully and thinking I needed to take a second.

So what exactly is the deal with Amsterdam? You just walk into a coffee shop, order whatever marijuana you want, then smoke it there? Is the weed more potent than here? Is it mixed with tobacco or just straight weed? Need answers because I am curious.

Ok very simple. They have places called coffee shops. These shops do sell good coffee.....but they also sell weed. You go to the counter and they usually have a book much like those old binders that held baseball cards.

Each little card slot has a different variety of pot. The better the pot the more it is although their prices are better than ours even though the product is sooooo much better. Although with the exchange rate maybe it is the same now. You pick a type and an amount (usually by the gram) and then you pay. You also get complimentary papers or you can ask for the "house" pipe or bong (only ask for a bong if you are prepared to be seen as an ugly pot american) The pot quality is off the charts....they have everything (indoor is the best but they have good afghan outdoor too) and they have tons of different strains. The little pot bags they sell are straight pot (no tabacco) and their pot is more potent than ours (although some places in California, Seattle, and delivery service in Manhattan come close).

Then you go sit down and have a drink and enjoy your pot. You can smoke outside though it is somewhat frowned upon. No one will say anything if you are in a big park away from kids but walking down a busy street with a fat joint is bad form.

You can also buy pre-rolled joints which is very popular if you dont have great fine motor skills when messed up. Be careful with this though....most pre-rolled joints in amsterdam DO have tabacco in them (which I personally HATE). You can find coffee shops with pre-rolled no tabacco joints if you look hard enough. To save you the trouble, there is a great coffee shop in Leidseplein (the trendy district with many good restaurants) called Rookies. They have amazing all weed pre-rolled joints for 5 euros (as of 2006).

There are a huge number of great coffee shops though. Abraxis is a good one in the center of the city. The Dolphins is very mellow and off the beaten path....they provide volcano vaporizers to use too. Barney's is the best for a wake and bake as they serve a very good breakfast (think IHOP but a bit better). If you are homesick go to the Bulldog (the americanized coffee shop). Also, note which coffee shops serve booze too as most do not. (if you like to do both at the same time)

I am sure I am forgetting a million good coffee shops....they are everywhere. Also, make sure you try a few things food wise to go with your awesome pot. Chocolate Waffles sold by street vendors are amazing. They have great french fry stands all over. Also Amsterdam has great Asian food. Bojo is a fantastic indonesian place. Lastly, you CANT miss out on poffertjes. Dutch love pancakes....there is a great place called The Carousel in a park that serves many styles of pancakes. Poffertjes are small silver dollar pancakes except they are more like funnel cakes than pancakes. So good.

I had a friend that paid for the 'judge' package at Cannabis Cup a few years back, so he went over there and was one of the judges. He has a sick picture of him in his hotel room after with like 40-50 different little sacks. You pretty much go from grower to grower and get a sample, smoke it, and rate it lol.

I would be stunned if there was not. I read Rolf Slotbloom's book on PLO and he discusses playing lots of PLO in Amsterdam so I assume the poker scene there is for real.

It was pretty interesting, but I brought it up because there is a section where they go to Amsterdam, compare stuff etc. Also, a classic scene with a crack head smoking crack on the street, where he sympathizes with Americans due to the policy. Lots of unintentional comedy there...Pretty good though, makes you a bit frustrated with the system.
