I have a myspace account. Is it me or is it filled with self employed models trying to be the NEXT internet sensation like Tila Tequila...or what ever her name is? I keep getting bugged by these chicks that want me to put them in my "Top eight". I use my account to keep track of old army buddies and long distance relatives. How the hell does somebody like Tila Tequila get famous. How can she be considered a MODEL. When I think of a MODEL people like Cindy Crawford, Gisel and Tyra Banks come to mind. Heck.. the chicks in the adds in my local fish rag come to mind BEFORE these women. When I was younger those women made FINE STRIPPERS and now they are on CNN???? What has youth culture come to?

I used it early on before it completely exploded (for similar reasons as the OP- keeping in touch with old friends who lived far away)

Once it became the massive pop-culture phenom it is today (where every single entity on earth- living or inanimate- has a myspace page), we all wound up deleting our accounts without even consulting each other about it and now just use email.

Well there are better solutions than myspace for keeping in touch, just takes a bit of effort for someone to get a domain name and set up a website and forums for their group of friends.

It's better on several levels. It's not cluttered with people just looking to get laid and currently how it is built, never will be.

A simple & very organized way to communicate with old friends and find people you havn't seen since elementary school.

I've never used it, but I heard it also lacks the ability of real customization of the profile. You can do some neat div hacks on myspace to create some cool stuff but I don't think you can on facebook.

yes which actually makes it better. It saves how you view your profile (say you want photo album showing). Every profile you go to will be shown that same format. It makes getting from A to B as simple as possible. The reason why I hate MySpace is because of the customization options. Too many people not know what they are doing screwing up the layouts.

I guess thats one way to look at it, I'd prefer the customization options. I don't like the prepackaged ones that people seem to use from these questionable sources though.

Meh it's all good, I'd rather just create my own site if I wanted it customized.
