I've been playing online for play money, play home games quite often and have done fairly well at the casino when I have gone. I would like to begin play low limits online at PokerStars (I guess, its where I've always played for play money). I'm 21 now, but when I was younger my parents always talked about how dangerous the internet was to do money transactions over. I'm sure its not true if you know what your doing, but I'm sorta nieve to the situation.

So.. I've come here looking for help from people who are clealry playing often for real money. Can someone give me a rundown of the steps I should take?

I have a debit/mastercard and it seems I can deposit money with that, but then it says that you can't withdraw into your account. Would I just have them send me a check or what's the best method.

I know I sound like a novice, but I think I'm pretty good at poker, just not sure how to get started for real money.

I also don't really know, I've heard some weird stories about you can't put money in and get that money out? You can only get profits out? I guess that's understandable, but is it true? Idk.. I guess I'll let y'all give me some help then see if I have more questions.. Sorry to sound like such a newb.

get a neteller acount. get it hooked up to your checking account. then u can transfer money from your checking account to your neteller account. Then u can deposit to any site. when u want to withdraw money from the site it can go back into your neteller acount. From their u can transer it back to your checking acount or leave it in your neteller account. neteller is reliable and secure. i think at stars the minimum deposit/withdraw is $50

Neteller works great, you just confirm a bank account and easy hassle-free transfers both ways

Also, cashing out by check works if you want

Most sites don't allow crediting back by cards

The only money you can't withdrawal right away is bonus dollars. You have to play so many hands to clear that money, then you can withdrawl it. I've never had any trouble with money transactions. A lot of times you can't withrawal money back onto your credit card but you can have it put into a neteller account or have a check sent to you.

The only stories I've heard about people getting screwed out of money involved them playing on shady sites. All of the major ones should be fine.

Before you play online recommend you make sure you understand the game your playing. Good NL play does not translate in good limit play. You should also undertand what the proper bankroll is for whatever game you're playing.

Goodluck with your venture.

Thank you, I appreciate the help. I'm about to set up an account with Neteller in a few minutes.

Like I said the poker stuff, bankroll and that stuff I'm not worried about. I understand it and can keep myself under control to play within my limits. Just always been warned by the parents about the "dreaded internet" and was just tyring to get as much advice as I could before I started anything.
