3/6, 4/8, 6/12.

bad. i wouldn't call them players so much as people who can sit at a table and lift chips up and down.

sucks. see if they'd be willing to get and interest board going for it some time.

navy hit it all around. I would just add:

in the couple places I've played that had O8, it usually took a lot longer than normal to get seated. partly because with so many split pots its harder for someone to go broke, partly because there's fewer O8 tables.

pots take longer to sort out (again, b/c of the split), esp. if the dealer(s) aren't used to it or on top of the game.

the games are a gold mine even if you just know very basic strategy (like, don't play *every* hand).

Definitely ask at the local cardroom. They're usually open to just about anything as long as there are people interested and available table/dealer(s). the worst that will happen is they'll say no, or start a list and the game never gets going. The best that can happen is you can start a game most people are unfamiliar with, with input on the limits.

My experience with it was the players are generally passive and bad like navy said. PEOPLE LOVE THE LOW. They will chase a 3 to a low for just about any bet. A4 A3 A2 23 24, any chance at a low is a good chance in their book.

As far as the speed goes, in detroit it was excellent. The dealer actually split the pot evenly as the bets came in, into two equal stacks so he could either shove them all, or hand out the split pots which was great, smart dealer. I have only played 5-10 and 10-20, nothing higher or lower, never seen anything else in vegas.

In LA, I have seen 3/6 and 6/12 (both with a kill) spread every day, and the players are every bit as bad as described above. The 3/6 game has singlehandedly rescued my bankroll, and that is primarily through unbelievably straightforward ABC play.
