Cheechoo's injury looked pretty bad, those knee-to-knee hits are dangerous. I had the Sharks reaching the Conf. finals and I still think they can. They have enough skill to pick up the slack, and maybe Thornton will just have to shoot more.

I wouldn't say it was a clean hit. He deserved a penalty.
But Hartnell definitely had no intention of hurting Cheechoo when he went to hit him.
It's like high sticking. Sometimes your stick will catch a guy in the face by accident. You didn't mean to hit him but it's still a penalty.
