Two guys that are new to the mix..

SHANAHAN and AVERY
rinswun
shanahan i cant argue about, one of my favourite guys in the whole league. avery on the other hand has no playoff experience and while i appreciate he plays a good agitating game, he might be shocked at the intensity of the playoffs and the extras some guys will get away with compared to the regular season. i guess it kinda depends on how strong the reffing will be.

Wager?

Sure, give me 2-1 odds and I'll take it for 20. Transfer on FT or Stars to winner? or FCP if possible.

As much as I have a 'feeling' they will win, they are still underdogs.

I'm gone in a half hour so monkey, propose something to me. How about even odds but Anaheim has to win in 6 games or less?

A walk. Minnesota was VASTLY outplayed last night contrary to the score and I'm saying that as objectively as possible. The Wild were never dangerous and I was never skerrrred.

Meh, Backstrom will give them a shot to win. They'll come out even harder next game and even the series.

They have to start being dangerous in the offensive zone first. Every goalie in the WC should be able to give their team a shot to win.

Anaheim is amazing...They will beat Minny easy

I just thought I let everyone know...

both teams are up 2-0..

and yes Sean Avery is a playoff monster..

Monster? A 2 point game with his goal being scored from centre ice. Yes, his offensive prowess is extraordinary.

The Wild just flat out aren't playing well. I'm kind of depressed because I rooted so hard for them this season.

Oh well, I have 3 players from the Rangers and Ducks, so I'm rooting for you to be right, serge.

i havent seen any of these games cos they are on too late for me but from what i have read the wild just have no offense, gaborik cant get a look in and the wild are winning from playing solid, shut down hockey. the experience of pronger and neidermayer has gotta be a key reason for that, plus my boy beauchemin. i have backed the ducks for the cup but i thought this series would be a lot closer tbh.

This is kinda off on a tangent, but I remember a while ago, a guy I know who is close friends with Pronger asked him who he'd least like to face on a one on one. I think his answer was something like Gaborik and Modano.

Either way, Anaheim is shutting them down, but thankfully it's not as lopsided as it was a few years ago in the western conf finals.

another reminder..the two teams I picked will both be up 3-0 ..With Anaheim going for the sweep tonight..

Sweeps are not necessarily a good thing.

I'm happy Buffalo lost a game. The points I got there are bonus.
Belanger25
I think the way Atlanta has played the Kings would have had a damn good chance of sweeping them. Seriously bad hockey.

I picked this before the playoffs...They are both going to the finals..

Thanks for coming out..

I bow down to Serge's greatness. All hail the mighty Serge and his incredible predictions.

Seriously. I was amazed how many guys picked Atlanta over the Rangers in the predictions thread. Lundqvist might be playing the best goal right now and the team was on fire down the stretch. Yeah, I can't brag since I did not make my own predictions but picking the Rangers to win a couple of rounds from a Ranger fan does not mean anything. It would have sounded like an enthusiatic fan overhyping his team. Only Adam can get away with picking his own team since they are the odds on favorite.

I picked my team *and* your team to win their first round series. There just wasn't any way that Atlanta wasn't at a significant disadvantage, the only thing they had going for them against the Rangers was home ice, which really doesn't mean as much in hockey as in a sport like football.

I was hoping to see Buffalo - Rangers in the second round...but now I'm really hoping Tampa finishes off Jersey so the Rangers and Sens can beat each other up.

*Edit* If you want to hear about a prognositication, I was able to correctly predict the Buffalo vs Dallas Super Bowl (the first one) in the preseason that year.

Of course...I picked Buffalo to win it, so I guess no one's perfect.

It's not about who wins the first round. Why are you so happy that New York only played 4 games?

because the Rangers totally dominated a pretty good team...While the Sabres "struggled" against the Isles..

When I mean struggled most of the games were close and the Isles caused them some problems...The more I watch these games the more I realize that experience is so important in these playoffs...having Jagr and Shanahan is invaluable..

Atlanta was not a pretty good team. Buffalo will fire four lines at New York. We'll see how the Rangers' 3rd and 4th lines can handle that. Lundqvist should be a lot busier than he was against Atlanta.

The Islanders were never in that series, period.

The Thrashers were never in that series, period.

The second round will be excellent and fun to watch, period.

The Sabres will play the Senators in the 3rd round, period.
