That's a dry board?
simo_8ball
That is not a dry board. It's not even just moist. That board is as dry as this cat:

I bet a little more on the flop (about pot).
I sigh and pay off his set on the turn.

The minute I saw the flop, I was like ??????????????

Just because you don't see an A or K out there with your QQ, doesn't mean that the board is dry.

For future reference, a dry board is something like K82 rainbow flop, or a final board of K9824, where no straights or flushes are possible.
Balloon guy
BB have 88?

Can't do it any different.

Maybe just call turn, spade comes on river he may check to you and you can stop putting money in pot.

lol...perhaps dry was not a proper choice of words...i just didnt figure it to help him given the PF action

unless he called me with 67 or A2, in which case i would have to just pay him off and reload. and when the club came on the turn i didnt think the flush was a consideration.

And in caee anyone was wondering...he had JJ
CobaltBlue
At this level, I'm almost always getting the money in on the turn here. He can very easily have 66, 77, 99-JJ or some sort of big draw. It's an extremely strange line for a set (donk-betting the pot on the turn), though I suppose it's not unheard of.

what about a icon_suit_spade.gif k icon_suit_spade.gif or a icon_suit_spade.gif q icon_suit_spade.gif ? hell, at these levels you would see a wide variety of hands and i wouldn't put it past someone to have a wide range that could connect with that board (66, 77, axs, kqs, etc)

What quote?

I think you're misreading me. I posted the cat pic because, well, I like cat pics. Who doesn't. I thought it was fairly amusing. Nothing sinister. No barb intended.

My other two posts were regarding the "i didnt think the flush was a consideration" comment alone. There is no flush possible. Or were you perhaps meaning the draw wasn't a consideration? I'm not sure.

Why lead out with a pot-sized bet with those cards after the OG raiser has shown strength? Wouldnt you try to get your money in before the turn with a flush draw and overs? To me thats almost an insta-push on the flop after a bet if youre going to play it at all...

yes, i meant the draw wasnt a consideration.

btw, the vid of the cat budling the cat on its hind legs is hilarious...

and i guess i am mis-reading you...i took no offense to the cat pic, i actually found that rather amusing. i think your follow-ups irked me.

at any rate, i apologize for my heated-ness in the other posts. booze and brawls with the lady will do that to a man's demeanor.

for you yes, but i've seen people play like that before. hell, i've played hands like that before. granted its less likely than a pp, but we don't have reads and its not unreasonable so we can't discount it.

Pretty standard the way it played out.
I don't know that I change much.
