Hello,
Ok so I've decided to start playing online for hopefully some real money, I've already made a thread but I'd really appreciate some views on this more specific question. I can't wait to jump into some freerolls but before I do I obviously need to sign up for a rakeback scheme. Could someone tell me how it works, and most importantly, what are the large rakeback sites with many customers, a legitimate reputation and that they themselves use?
Cheers

Basically, rakeback looks at the total rake generated each pot, and divides that by the number of players dealt in that hand. So if you are playing a table with 5 players, and rake gets to the full $3, your share would be $0.60. However, this is the gross rake. Rakeback sites offer a percentage of this back, ie) ultimatebet offers 30 %, so at the end of the month, if you earned $0.60 in gross rake, you would receive a payment for 30 % of this, or $0.18. Usually sites make this payment on or around the 15th of the next month, and have various methods of depositing, ie) within your account on certain sites, or into say a netteller account.
Rakeback is NOT available for party poker, or pokerstars, nobody what anybody else says, but is generally available for almost any other site. You have to download the program from a link through the rakeback site, which means deleting the program for the pokersite if you have it downloaded already, or also they sometimes have a code for when you install the program.
I personally use rakeaid.com, with the same username as this site. Haven't had problems as of yet. If you want a referral to that site, send me a pm, and I'll send you the information.
Hope this helps.

Yeah what happens is that affiliates are paid a % of the rake of the players that they sign up. Lets say for example I sign up under you, the poker site is so happy that you got them a customer that they pay YOU lets say 40% of the rake that I generate. And you are so pleased that I signed up under you that you offer me 30% of my rake back. Thus EVERYONE makes money and everybody is happy.
There are lots of reputable sites out there you just have to find out which one is the best for you. Have a look at www.rakebrain.com or www.taketherakeback.com/
