Table play was fairly loose. Mix of passive/aggressive players. Should I have slowplayed flop and bet out/raised turn instead?

For the love of God, bet the turn.

Forgot to mention: I've seen villain attempt to steal pot numerous times. Was trying to induce a bet on the river since it was 2-handed

If you were to never slowplay the flopped nut flush, ever, in this history of your life, you'd probably make more money.
AKProdigy
Usually I don't, but I think specific to this situation villain folds most of the time on a turn bet unless he had top pair. I figured that it was more likely he was on a flush/staight draw, had 2nd pair more than anything. Of course at the limit I'm playing it could mean anything lol

u've got the nuts, build the pot.

think about it metagame, u don't want them to think that u bet the turn when u miss and check the turn when u're strong.

he could call the turn, cr the river if he hits 2p or a set, etc. etc. etc. Build the pot.

Easy turn bet.

Bet the turn, call the river. Any ace now beats you. Get the money in when you are ahead, not after you let him catch up. What do you do if he 3-bets the river?

I think the river raise is as bad as the turn check.
