Ok let me first say that on the felt I am a big Negreanu fan and I rarely sign up for message boards but i did hear because of just that, Having said that you gotta stop preaching bro. No one cares if you think its not right about Sanjaya being voted in and the people that were out before him might have got one more week anyways the fact of the matter is that the best will win and thats all thats important. Also its people having a good time with a show that normally they wouldn't watch anyways and just having some fun. He has his fans as he is not god awful and is likable he will get a lot out of this in a positive way and maybe when he gos on tour he can sharpen some skills. I hate to get in the middle of this dumb argument...but here goes...The show is presented as a singing competition, voted on by the viewers. THAT BEING SAID, the audience can basically vote on whatever criteria they want, cuz obviously there's no way to make them vote based on the singing. That being said, you're both right and both wrong and this isn't worth anymore discussion. NOW...back to ragging on the idiot OP...

The competition is designed to advance the best singers so that ultimately the best singer wins. Yes, it is impossible to enforce the rules on the public and they can vote for whatever reasons they want. Yes, the least votes goes home, but the least votes are supposed to go to the least talented singer. Do they? Apparently not seeing as Sanjaya is clearly the least talented and has been for awhile.

With the understanding that the least talented should recieve the least votes and be gone, Sanjaya should not be there.

While I agree that Sanjaya is not (anywhere near) the best singer in the competition, someone in America keeps voting for him ! For a young kid, he seems to be handling all of this with a lot of maturity. He's not bragging in the interviews that he is the best. He seems pretty humble about this whole phenomenon that is happening to him. He seems to have a sense of humor about it all.....as shown by the various hairstyles. He's having fun with his 15 minutes. Best of luck to him !

Humble? Have you even watched the show? Do you see how annoyed he looks when he is told he is bad? It is fairly obvious no one has ever told this kid how much he sucks, which is alot. Alot alot alot.

This kid is the result of current parenting, which advocates lying to these poor kids to the point where they have no idea what truth is. Somewhere, a parent is reveling in this kids mediocrity, his complete lack of presence and Steve Perry hair, like it's the next best thing, but it's no more than a novelty act, William Hung with better hair.

Yes by all means, we should tell our kids at a very young age that they are not good enough, and just let them know early on so they don't get their hopes up.

I agree with you, this whole new idea of parenting to give your kids a sense of worth and self-esteem is indeed a horrible idea.
