I often play this hand the exact same way.
Even if Villain is not bluffing, you have up to 10 outs to improve.
- If you hit on the turn, raising the flop often gives you more profit.
Since any card that improves your hand (AKQ) on the turn is an over to Villain's supposed pair, and will likely cause him to check the turn thus not giving you a chance to raise.
- If you miss on the turn, you can take your free card, and thus save money.
When we are check-raised on the turn, we are told that our TPTK is behind.
But our hand is strong.
And we still have our draw to the nuts.
So I call down from there.

And I think you can fold to the turn c/r.
I think it is these premature folds that cost you a lot of money, AIM.
I imagine that you make them often.
And opponents recognize this.
And bluff the heck out of you.
This turn can not be folded.
