Ok this isnt a real hand but i find this sort of hand often comes up.

fairly small stakes (0.5/1 or 1/2)

i riase with something like AK, KQ, 1010, whatever, and get a call out of the big blind, so i have position. no real read on opponent.

the flop comes down with 2 to a flush, and i hit a pair say.

flop: check, I bet 2/3ish of pot, call

turn: check, I bet, call

river: the card that makes a flush possible hits, villain bets out.

what percentage of the time do people think he has the flush here?

i know i have not included anything about the size of the pot. what kind of pot odds do most people think they need in order to call here?

A good time if villain is C/C'ing you, and a draw fills, it should be a warning sign. C/C'ing and betting the river happens a lot with sets and filled draws, but you also have to have a read on opponent. Does he have one pair and think he's letting you do the betting for him? Did he miss a different draw and try to buy the pot, knowing he can't win with a showdown? It comes down the the strength of your hand. Usually on a draw-filled board, TPGK+ can be layed down, and you can wait for a better spot.

You can't ALWAYS put villain on a filled flush however. Although they seem like they hit a lot, the odds of hitting a flush are quite low. The only thing to do when you're relatively sure villain has a good draw is give him incorrect odds to call. Try betting more than the pot occasionally. If the villain is LAG he'll likely make the mistake of calling, and in the long term it won't pay off for him.

Punish draws when you think you're ahead, that's all the advice I can give.

Pot it on the turn and watch him squirm.

I realise that betting bigger gets rid of draws, but my question is what pot odds would most people call a bet here? what percentage of the time do we think he actualy has the flush?

My experience with the low limits is that ppl are willing to go for their draws no matter what the cost. They don't count pot odds or implied odds. They just have a flush draw and they like it As to the percentage of when they have the flush or not when the third card falls - I'd say it's pretty often. I guess it can be a represenation of the flush but those kind of bluffs are pretty rare in my opinion.

This is KEY. The turn is essential part of every hand. When I don't put the screws on people on the turn, I have bad nights.
