I go to michigan state and i feel like i dont do much in my life, im curious what others do. basically my life right now consists of sleeping, eating, working out, poker, going to parties, drinking, and hanging out with friends. oh and hanging out with my family sometimes. i dont have a gf...but what else do college students do? I study rarely but my grades are fine for now...

Man, when I was in college, I went to class, got hammered, partied with awesome people as much as I could, met all sorts of new people, played IM sports, lounged around and made fun of girls behind their backs when they wouldn't sleep with me, and pretty much just had the most awesome time ever. That's what you DO in college, man.

I suggest having a thing. Like, my thing was to wear a shirt that said "COLLEGE" on it, and just make vague comments during parties or tailgates, like, "Man... this is so college" while doing stereotypical college things, like drinking on a roof or bonging a beer. Then when people started to agree with me, I'd make a mental note to never become friends with them, and then laugh about them behind their backs with my real friends, because, Jesus, isn't that just a really stupid thing to say?

I went to parties during college and had my share of good times, but most of you guys have it way better than I did. For all 5 years, I commuted from home and have never lived "on campus" or experienced that sort of lifestyle. Looking back, I wish I could've afforded on-campus living because I bet it would've been such a blast (not to mention save a lot of cash in gas money).

Nah, the fact that I'm living home and haven't played poker in a while is just a coincidence. I'm too lazy to figure out how to get money on/off online sites, and there are never any live games around me, since I live in NY. Also, I found myself getting a bit too wrapped up in it. Not really addictive gambling, but I just got too serious about it. I know I'm never going to be a professional poker player, so putting that much effort into my "game" is kind of stupid, and detracts from other things I want to do.


I had a "girlfriend" that I was with for a semester or so when I went away, but I admittedly put no sort of effort into the relationship. She just happened to always be doing the same stuff as I was, so we just added sexing to the mix during the downtime. Basically I just did the same stuff I always did. The only difference is instead of watching baseball games alone in my room, she was with me, and my penis would be getting wet.

I've been in college for fucken 7 years and I can honestly say there is nothing more than what was described by the OP. They key is to learn to be as efficient in your studies as possible so you have lots of time for drinking and teaching the first year girls about the new move on campus referred to as "the shocker". Over the last years I have been looking forward to graduating this may, but lately I am really kind of dreading going into the real world and leaving all my friends and bongs behind. Mandatory drug tests are def -ev.

I was on probation for the same thing, and was ordered to fill out surveys by an off-campus research company, as well as attend 3 meetings about the dangers of alcohol on campus. The meetings were stupid, but since the surveys were done by a company that wasn't affiliated with the school, they paid you $25 per survey taken. We were mandated to do 4 of them by the school, so essentially we got paid $100 for getting busted playing beer pong and being loud.

ya well MSU sucks for that. u prob know our reputation and the administration/city is trying hard to change it. Roughly 10-20 MIPs are given out each thurs/fri/sat night...and probation is strict. and it sucks. waking up at 8 am every morning when my first class isnt until 3....fock me i need to go to sleep soon.

Going to undergrad in Canada drinking was'nt really discouraged at all in face it was encouraged. But in Canada drinking is also encouraged in grade school soo.....

I'd like to point out that my Freshman year I got drunk each and every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. 100%. Didn't miss a one. I was pretty proud, especially when my roommates printed me out a certificate, with the inscription:

"For Outstanding Accomplishments in the Field of Drinking Inappropriately Often"

Swimming, TV, Internet, Eating, Partying (on weekends can't on weekdays because of swimming).

Studying????? Only during finals week. Fortunately my major: Recreation Parks & Tourism Administration is a breeze. It boggles my mind that it takes a 3.5 gpa or over(approxamately) to get into my school, yet I could have passed these classes in junior high.

I'm leaving for Greece on Friday with an Adventure Travel Tourism class... another reason I'm grateful for my easy major.

Yeah, totally. I HATED going to MSU to party. At Michigan, kegs are shared by all, everyone throws good parties, and the cops absolutely don't give a fuck about anything. It's very difficult to get an MIP, and noise violations are never anything more. Cops in Ann Arbor understand there job is to keep everyone safe, and since nobody drives in the city, they realize kids getting drunk will rarely cause any problems. At MSU those horseback cops are busting people up for little-to-no reason.

ha yeah we are like 95% Jewish although like 5 years ago there was a black kid. TEP and ZBT are like 50-70% Jewish as well but @ UF every fraternity has Jews bc theres like 8,000 on campus

Southern Illinois has been trying to shed it's party school image since we were voted #1 party school in Playboy quite a few years back...hasn't happened yet so the administration at MSU shouldn't hope for much.
