So, I posted in this forum the other night for the first time during the Simon incident. I don't really follow professional hockey, I generally only watch international competitions. And yet, I found myself day after day, poking my head into this forum. Why, you ask? because I am fascinated with serge. His psychotic devotion to the maple leafs I find morbidly fascinating. I have no idea if some or any of his outrageous claims about the leafs, or against other teams and people are true or not, but I find them to be hilarious reading. I read the hockey forums every day now, 70-80 percent of the reason I do is serge. Keep up the good (?) work, serge. You have one donkey fan.

Well I appreciate the comments...I think..lol....

Well I think we all need to lighten up and have fun...The genereal thread is full of people always ridiculing and making fun of people for posting...I totally agree that I am psychotic when it comes to hockey and especially the Leafs..

Welcome to the hockey forum and hope you have fun...We have a good group of guys here...

Your title on the thread was a lie. We all love Serge for the things you mentioned.

If it wasn't wasn't what I thought then you'd post about wanting to make sweet love to serge. wink.gif

I probably would have lost interest by now if not for the dynamics serge brings out in this place. It's fun to watch Daniel do stuff like tool on him in completely fabricated interviews.

In this other forum I frequent the hockey forum is the only one that is civil. Everyone respects eachother and very few flair ups. I think hockey fans in general have a mutual respect thing happening. Or it could all be a 1 big coincidence.

I also find serge's unwavering devotion to the MapleLeafs very fascinating. I do admire serge's loyality to the Leafs no matter how delusional his thoughts become (yesterday he thought the Leafs could climb as high as 5th in the East). Seriously, I do respect the loyality and devotion.
serge
I am devoted to the end...Some people call me stupid but I will never give up....After tonight I am sure the bandwagon got much lighter...However I feel we are still right there and we will come back strong tomorrow.....

I really do believe that the Leafs still have a shot at the Cup this year..

I really don't have anything to add to this forum ( not that I have much to add to other forums to begin with) unless the issues transcend hockey. What do you think the odds are, realistically, of the leafs winning the cup, serge?

My hockey knowledge pretty much started in '92 and ended in '97, and can be manly attributed the EA sports NHL francise of games on the genisis and nintendo 64 ( which are still some of my favorite games) If the player wasn't on those games, or isn't crosby, ovetchkin (SP!?!), Burt2-Zee, or Simon, I probably don't know them.

I used to like the blackhawks in those NHL games, they had such a rugged line up. But then Worst ruined the franchise.

I am rooting for the leafs, 'cause i think the leafs winning the cup would be high comedy in these forums. Go leafs.

well realistically if we get into the playoffs our chances are remote...however there is still a chance....The leafs have struggled all year with injuries...

The leaders of this team Sundin,Tucker,Wellwood,Kaberle,Mccabe,Peca,Antropov,Ponikarovsky have had very FEW games playing together...If they are all healthy and our goalie plays like he is capable I think we got a shot...a small shot but a shot nonetheless..

We appreciate your support and welcome you to the Leafs Nation, even if its just as an honorary member.

Sundin and peca (i'm pretty sure) were on one of my NHL games, I can get behind them.

your always pretty funny, but that one really had me laughing!

I agree with the general concensus, Serge is often the straw that stirs the drink.

I liken him to the characater in the movie Fever Pitch. I respect that kind of loyalty to a sports team, especially one that starts at a young age and doesn't waver, no matter how delusional it may be at times! usually these things come from family, so bond is strong.
if it makes him happy, all the more power to him.

You can't call these two leaders, I have never scene Antropov skate hard in my life. They both have good shots and can work the boards but as far as being leaders? Only on a sunken ship my friend.

Excellent point:

Sundin: Leader, just on work ethic and on ice determination alone. Not vocal in the room, but doesn't have to be. Excellent leader.

Tucker: Heart and soul player. Will make any sacrifice to win a game. Has become more of a dressing room leader.

Wellwood: No. Not at all. Decent skill player, but not a leader.

Kaberle: Leads in work ethic, in practice particularly, one of the few players committed to making the right play.

McCabe: absolutely not. Selfish. Stupid penalties. As far from a leader as you're going to get.

Peca: Leader by example. Unfortunately, can't do that while hurt.

Antropov: Leader? you're kiddding, right?

Ponikarovsky: hard working kid, but leader..... NO NO NO.

Let's be real here, serge.... call it like it is, not like you want it to be.

by leader maybe he meant "leading player" as in the best players on the team, not as literal leaders in the locker room and on the ice?
serge
Actually BigDmCgee is right...I didnt mean leaders per say, but the best players on the team....

McCabe gets bashed for no reason...There isnt too many defenceman(overall) that are better than him...

Serge, since you love the leafs so much, you would think that you'd be on the lookout for things that hurt the team you love.... Bryan McCabe is one of those things. Wake up.

I think a lot of Flyers fans would argue about Pitkanens inclusion (at least this season).
