How many of you guys would be willing to do a draft online where we pick players for jus the NHL post season? It wouldn't be head to head, just total points and players would be drafted in order. We could make a special thread ONLY for picks, no chit chat and we could do a snake draft, picking 10 players a piece, depending on the number of interested parties.

8 forwards
4 defensemen

NO GOALIES please it always kills me how pools offer 5 points for a shutout and if you dont have that goalie you're screwed.

I think the intention here is to go with points only with no regard for position.

EDIT:
Last year I was in one that used this automated website to control it.
The cost is only $1 (Canadian) for every poolie to a max of $20 (Canadian) for up to 20 poolies or more.
The points are tallied when the games are completed and there is a web access for each team's full stats.

Check it out:

Heck, I'll pony up the $20 and offer to administrate, if required....

Let's do it.

I'd be into this. I run one each year for our company through officepools.com

They make it easy.

I want to make the pool extremely simple from a scoring perspective. All you track are points, goals and assists would be the same. I was thinking 10 players to a team, any combination of forwards or defensemen.

What we'd need to is pick a date where everyone can be online and post their picks in a thread here. Unless some of you have a better idea.

We don't even have to do if after the playoffs are set. If a team is on the playoff bubble you could still take players from a team that might not make it. That way, Serge can still get guys like Tucker, Sundin, and McCabe. When The Leafs miss the playoffs, he just gets zero points for those players. Heck, we could do this pool as early as tomorrow even.

As for the buy in and stuff, I'll be a sport and make it a $500 freeroll to the winner (don't tell the General Forum, lol.)

Now, if we get 20 entrants that covers 200 players. That would basically cover the entire roster for all teams left in the playoffs (plus Serge's 10 picks, all Leaf players). Any more than 20 players, and I think we should go with 8 players.
DanielNegreanu
If anyone is gung ho about running the pool and has a good idea how to do the draft online, speak up.
runthemover
if there's not 20 people already, I'm down

DN, I could certainly help out in any way with it.

I say do 20 teams of 10 players. Doing more than 20 teams creates logistical nightmares I think. I don't mind running part of it, I'm assuming DM would do the stats regardless of whether there's someone doing them officially or not, so maybe I could take care of organizing the draft and site and he could take care of the statistical side/running of the pool side of things (assuming he wants to of course).

As for the draft, I think we need to find a chatroom, forum posting for 200 players would just be a nightmare. Have an alternate list for people who don't show up to the draft. You're not there for your first pick, or don't have someone there for you, and you're out and an alternate's in.

Also, I think cash is a bad idea (though it's a generous offer), it'll attract the wrong people.
Belanger25
With the first overall selection of the Playoff Pool. Serge selects Dustin Penner!
