Upon CardPlayer's review, I decided to pick this book up. I'm only 1/3 of the way through it, but it's immensely valuable so far. There are a lot of things written in it like Patience Factor and the relation between Card-Chips-Position that haven't really been explored previously...or at least not analyzed in this manner. I highly recommend that y'all pick it up. Snyder doesn't have a whole lot of credentials, but he writes the truth. I'll report back when I've read the whole thing.

Well, it's not so much "new" as reminded and motivated. I was relying on the mercy of the cards too much. This reminded me that in order to stay healthy in medium-fast tournaments, that's just not a good approach.

It's good stuff, and Snyder has a huge feud with Mason Malmuth going because of this book. Malmuth argues that tournament speed is irrelevant. I'm inclined to side with Snyder here. Tactical aggression based on position and stack size as well as cards (the least reliable weapon of the three, believe it or not, due to the luck factor) all improve your chances of cashing. Waiting for AA, KK, AK, QQ is like waiting for Godot in a tourney with 15-20 min blind levels.

I don't mind discussing the book further here, but just in case anyone reads here and not Tournament Strat, I started a discussion over there also:
