Second game is done. Notice how strong the Thieves goaltending has been, a shutout and a one goal game. Goaltending and defense are what wins championships.

No, what wins is playing the Big M's when they score -0.5 each game.

The Big M's should be renamed the Big A Rods

Cheap Thieves are dominating the playoffs thus far, ahead in most categories, but most importantly, ahead 2-1 in the series.
DanielNegreanu
In the AHL Playoff Power Rankings the Thieves would be 3rd at forward, second on defense, first in goal, and first in +/-.

I'm getting goosebumps, lol.
DanielNegreanu
What's interesting to note is that the teams that ranked 7th and 8th in forwards and +/- are also the two teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs.

My goalies are total studs. Without that goofy mistake, if I had San Jose in like I was supposed to, the worst game I would have had was 2 goals allowed by Vancouver. My GAA would be 1.20.

Game #6 this Tuesday!!!!

Here are the MVP's of each team that won round 1:

Cheap Thieves:
San Jose Sharks Goalies (Evgeni Nabakov)- Nabakov should have played in four games, allowing 3 goals in thise games if it weren't for a managing error. Nonetheless, in three games, including a crucial game 6 series win, Nabakov came up huge and boasted a 1.00 GAA in three games.

Red Ravens:
Jeff Hamilton, CHI.- this award could be given to any one of three Ravens. Zhitnik lead all defenseman in scoring, and Carolina, oin two games allowed just one goal. The spirited play of Hamilton, though, 2 games, 3 goals and four assists, was just exceptional. Hamilton single handedly stole a victory from Rug Rats and went on to win the series in five games.

The Big M's:
Marc-Andre Bergeron, NYI.- With such a deep and talented team, unheralded rearguard Marc-Andre Bergeron notched two goals and two assists in four games for the M's.

Swackers:
Marian Hossa, ATL.- Not much of a surprise here, when Atlanta scores, they often score in bunches, and Marian Hossa is usually in on it somehow. With 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games, Hossa was the Swackers best forward and lead the team in crucial wins.
DanielNegreanu
Despite being down 1-0 in the series, the Red Ravens boast the top scorer, top defenseman, and top goaltender in the playoffs.
DanielNegreanu
Raise your hand if you figured that Jeff Hamilton would be the leading scorer in the AHL playoffs?
DanielNegreanu
How sick is Alexei Zhitnik right now???
DanielNegreanu
Olli Jokinen is make a late push for playoff MVP.
