Depending on what you like you might want to check out Frontline by PBS. One the best investigative reporting shows on TV. They cover one topic for an hour uninterupted, and its really done in a documentary style. You can view all the episodes online at

The 7-Up series is by far my favorite documentary series.....it is a series of films made every 7 years, chronicling the lives of different people in England. The first of the series is called Seven Up!, and it was made in `64. 7 Plus Seven came next, then they were called 21 Up, 28 Up, 35 Up, etc. 49 Up came out in `05. This might be what you were looking for, but I find them to be extremely interesting and captivating documentaries. You can Netflix them.....definitely worth checking out.
