I have an account at Absolute that has been inactive. I understand that I cannot get rakeback on it.

Can my "husband" open a new account there (with his own Epassporte or whatever kind of deposit options they have there) to get rakeback ? Or will they block it because it is the same IP address ? I'm technologically impaired......does an IP address trace it to my house or to our internet service provider ? Would it help if the account was set up from a different house ? Or a yahoo address and not our regular email ?

Any help would be apreciated !

Their rule is one per household.

There are skins that you can sign up for rakeback with (bigchip poker is the biggest one), but they're generally ***.

If you want a family member to do it for you, they need to have their own mailing address.

I was able to get my existing account at Absolute changed to rakeback through thisisthenuts.com.
On a related note, those with rakeback deals at Absolute should be aware that:

The major drop in most of your stats on Absolute Poker for FEB is due to Absolute converting from the DEALT
method to the CONTRIBUTED method in allocating rake to players. This results in a MUCH LOWER
RAKE ALLOCATION to tight players because if you don't put any $$ in the pot you are not allocated
any of the rake for the hand. TITN and several other affiliates have protested this change vigourously to AP.

We encourage you to email Absolute Poker Support and STRONGLY encourage them to convert back to DEALT.
YOU are their most valued customers and YOU are being hurt by this change.
Also express your concern that they don't convert UB to CONTRIBUTED.

I'm writing my email as we speak.

You got that from SYR, right?

I was bitching out seif in the 100k tournament earlier today to change it back to dealt MGR.
I promised him it would help him grow back a healthy head of hair.
Im not sure if i can fulfill my end of the bargain though.

What's SYR?

Here's my email

I think you guys are really shooting yourself in the foot by changing the
method of rake calculation from dealt to contributed. Penalizing tight
players with rakeback deals (i.e. the ones who are likely going to be around
for the long term) just isn't good business, IMO. There are just too many
options out there.

Thank you for your email.

Our website does indicate in the terms and conditions for our bonus offers, "Absolute Poker reserves the right to change, modify, or cancel any promotion at its discretion" (http://www.absolutepoker.com/promotions/terms.asp).

We realize that changing the terms under which our bonus clears can be upsetting to some of our players, and it is not a decision that we take lightly.

We have made very few changes to these terms and conditions over the years, but from time to time business considerations require that we review our promotions and make changes. This change applies to all player accounts equally from the date the conditions were modified.

We are sorry if you feel that this is unfair or wrong, but in the circumstances, we will not be applying the old terms to bonus amounts currently pending in player accounts.

Thanks for playing at Absolute Poker! If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know. We are here for you!

They've recently changed their bonus clearing policy as well so that lower limit players are at a disadvantage. The players at Absolute, however, are some of the worst around, IMO. So at least that's a nice bonus.

He posted that here before it was posted on SYR.
