To cut a long story short I have been playing on this crappy website because of it's freerolls ( I am easily able to cash in them). I was watching a 0.02/0.04 cash game to see if it would be easy to make money off these people and it doesn't seem to rake. I looked on the website at the rake charts etc and it says it takes some percentage. However I watched for about 5 mins and they didn't rake the pot once. Is there an answer to this or have I just completely missed something?
It's quite a new site I think but I wouldn't have thought that would have anything to do with it. :S

Maybe they don't rake micro games.
Maybe you didn't witness a pot large enough to rake.
Or maybe theres a bug with their software atm.

Doug,

I'm a regular on Tropical. It's the first site that allowed me to build a true bankroll. There are many issues with the site (not enough players, bad graphics, no big tourneys, etc.) but it will remain one of my favorites.

Regarding the rake, Tropical takes 5% rake once the pot reaches $1. If you watch the .25/.50 NL game (which runs nightly), you will see that 5% rake represented. If you do choose to continue playing on Tropical, they have a great rakeback program that they don't advertise. It's based on your weekly play.

300 hands = 25% rakeback
600 hands = 50% rakeback
1000 hands = 75% rakeback
1500 hands = 100% rakeback

It's the best deal I've heard of. I make around $100 a week through rakeback. Again, they don't adverstise it, and you'll probably have to contact support to inquire. Keep in mind that I'm getting nothing from this deal. Just trying to help out a fellow FCPer. GL.

Thanks a lot caviness, I hope to see you on Tropical soon. It's like the black sheep of poker websites.

Did you kids play in the $500 Valentine's freeroll?

Do they have peer to peer transfer there ? I have about $20 there that I can't withdraw (not worth setting up a ATM with their $15 withdrawal fee). If they do, pm me your screennames.

Valentines day freeroll was a little late for me as I live in England. Not quite sure what you are asking as I am quite inexperienced at online poker but my screename is 00Doug anways.

Hey Fin,

I played in the $500 free, but finished around 400 or so out of 1000. It's hard for me to play large MTT's on there, with a little one at home. I usually try to play a few hands then sit out for a while and come back to it when I have time. Still, it's a great site for FR's, especially when they're more in the 4-500 player range.

Unfortunately there is no PTP transfer on Tropical. I would suggest buying in short in the .25/.50 game. The max buyin in that game is $25, with the min being $5. I see a lot of players buying in for $5. You'd be surprised how far you can get just nut peddling on that site. You could also look into the guaranteed tourneys. The $200 guaranteed is a $5 buyin as well.

My SN is cd_player, which I use for all sites. You'll see me playing most nights after 8:00 pm. Good luck.
