My first post here, and I was a passive reader until Al Gore's topic came up. I like Al Gore. I think he could've made a wonderful president. He made two big mistakes in running for his last presidency. He had Lieberman as his running mate and he refused to have Clinton get involve in his campaign. He was deftly afraid of Clinton's sexual liason tainting his campaign and he tried to distance himself from Clinton as much as possible. That was a big mistake.

Secondly, I could never understand his choice as a running mate. Lieberman????!!!! Not only is he a moderate, but he was the worst choice as far as running mate is concerned.

Last report says that whatever progress made by Clinton administration in preserving the environment has been wiped out by Bush's relentless lack of regard for the environment. He overturned 50 years environmental laws all for the sake of big corporation. Essentially Bush is ruining this country and not enough good people to stand up to him.

Gore/Obama would make a fantastic team. It is too bad Gore decided not to run. This country needs Gore, and he may need to reconsider.

to ge tthe word out...he could have programmed into the internet a forced popup with his list of accomplishments and his statements...he can do that right, he has some control over it the net would think, he invented it for crying out loud

I think the OP made some good points about Gore losing the elction. It was pretty much his to lose, and he lost it.

I like Lieberman though, so I disagree that he was a bad choice.


But the most important thing to remember is that after 5 recounts..Gore LOST. Everytime he lost.

It wasn't stolen from him, the republicans didn't take it, the Supreme Court didn't appoint Bush the winner. Gore lost, everytime they counted.

And that's even after the democrats threw out 19K votes from service men and women serving their country overseas, but the military was a little slow getting the ballots to Florida so the demoncrats just DISENFRANCHISED the military.


And now that Algore is nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, Rush Limbaugh is also nominated, so Gore's going to lose again!

You are all wrong! It wasn't about his running mate, his wife, how he debates, or his decision to exclude Clinton from his campaign. Al Gore lost the election because America thought that Bush would be a better person to drink a beer with.

I prefer having a little fun with the arguements, feel free to respond in kind. I try to keep from being nasty and I expect the same.

Her wanting to have a label on a record saying that their is foul language isn't censorship. Anymore than not letting the foul language on the radio or the television is.


The 'Everything is art' crowd are nuts. My son went to an Art school, during his graduation ceremony he told us that only two years ago did they finally make it a rule that you had to wear some clothes to graduation. More people in this country voted for Gore. He actually won Florida, but was cheated out of the presidency by the most evil administration this country has ever seen. George W. Morality is different between people... we like to think there is a list of moral bases, but there isn't and that's completely fine. In other societies, eating people is ok. Look, I think the US governemnt has mismanaged the war and more importantly Bush has mismanaged the media, because that is what is trying him right now.

I have a freind of the family that lives in texas, I think I have put this on here before, he used to drive Bush when he was governor and said that he is a very nice, down to earth man who when he became president just wanted to do what he felt best for the country, regardless of what the media or public thought and he has stayed true to his word. He is not charismatic and does not think much of the media so the blast him and point out everthing bad he does.

Also, congress voted to go to war, Generals are making the decisions in regards to war strategy. Yes, he is the chief exec, but do not fool yourselves into thinking that there are not a large pannel of people who are making decision in his cabinet regarding the war effort.

As far as war crimes, look back at Mister Clinton for that, he was caught selling nuclear secrets to the chinese, but no charges were ever brought, instead they had inquisition about a BJ. I honestly beleive that the affair was a deversionairy tactic to divert attention to his actual crimes.

We don't live in a direct democracy where who received the most votes in the general election wins. So your first comment doesn't mean anything. Second, Gore did NOT win florida, and a commission headed up by the AP? found that no matter which combination of the 20 ways they used to count chads, that gore DID NOT WIN florida. Only the most uninformed and fanatical still espouse this belief, so maybe you should actually research and THINK about thinks before you make posts like these, making you come off as a naive, uninformed ******.

You can have whatever opinion you want on the war, but rest assured that bush will never be tried for war crimes, and he really, really doesn't give a crap whether some poker player he has never met "HATES HIM IN EVERY SENSE OF THE WORD". As far as spitting on the president, I don't know how long you've been here, but if you are going to pretend to be an American, learn that while it's proper to disagree with any president, one should at least hold the office in such respect to not make such juvenile comments.

It's ill advised to run out and change your life after watching a one-sided presentation of a topic.
