Gee, you just joined yesterday and this was your 2nd post. Did you join just to heckle him?

Daniel gets enthusiastic about ideas (and about life in general) and sincerely tries to make the world a better place through is actions and his writing. His enthusiasm is part of his charm ... and his sincere desire to help others is a big part of why many of us like and respect him. You certainly don't have to agree with everything he writes or does, but why join if you really don't like the guy?

To be completely honest, Daniel used to be my favorite poker player. That is until I started reading his anti-President, anti-anyone who beats him in a hand of poker, anti-pretty much anything that he doesn't agree with blog. And no, I don't have to agree with everything he says...which is exactly why I wrote this blog in the first place. You know People like you crack me up...you'd be the first person to stand up and fight for free speech like I'm sure Daniel would, right up until someone comes on here and makes somewhat of an "edgy" post. I really didn't mean to come across as harsh as I did, and I'm sorry if you or anyone else is offended by it. But that same enthusiasm that Daniel wrote his blog with...is the same enthusiasm that I wrote my response with. I was annoyed with the blog and I thought this was a forum to air your feelings about it, guess I was wrong.

It seems to me that you only get your political information from the Main Stream Media. This is HORRIBLE!! Since you are from Canada, you were indoctrinated in the Socialistic outlook that is endemic to Canada and you really have never been exposed to the historical facts that contridict your liberal opinions and outlook. You need to do some INDEPENENT RESEARCH and not accept at face value the propaganda that is spread by the Media and the Dimocrat National Committee.

Please try to refrain from imposing the liberal viewpoints on us that have no basis in HISTORY, COMMON SENSE OR FACT!!

60 minutes, inconvenient truth etc. are not mainstream, but very respected sources for information. I would say your description suits you perfectly and misses Daniel completely, but that is just my opinion.

Daniel said something in his blog about people having to say what they say to protect their salaries....which is exactly what could be said for the people screaming that the sky is falling due to "global warming"

The fact is the Sun has no thermostat. 100 or 200 years of the average temperatures being a degree or two higher or lower is a nano second in the grand scheme of the sun and earths life time. It is proven fact that the earth has cooled (heard of the ice age) and warmed at different times throughout history. The sun and earth are essentially living beings that have slight variences in temperature, weather etc... over time....it's called nature because it's natural.

While I agree and believe that the worlds (NOT just the US's) factories, cars and other ommisions are an issue and the less they pollute the better it's akin to a pimple on your *** as far as the earth is concerned. To think that we as humans are so mighty and powerful as to be able to destroy the earth in 50 years is extremely arrogant in my opinion.

Daniel, if you read this, I very much enjoy and appreciate FCP, you abilities as a poker player and your willingness to "put yourself out there" by expressing your beliefs and opinions in your blog and you should be commended for doing so.
That said, just because you have a public forum to express your opinions don't make them accurate.

One of the biggest things that makes our country so great is the ability of anyone and everyone to express thier opinions and I would never disparage anyone for doing so. Whether I share those opinions or not, I respect your courage for stating them so publicly so don't misinterpret my disagreement with your opinions as as anything other than that.

I do wish you would spend some time researching both sides of an issue thoroughly rather than watching a movie that was made for the sole purpose of forwarding an agenda and taking the bait hook, line and sinker, but if you don't, well, that too is your right.

As I said in my post, you don't have to agree with everything Daniel says and does. I certainly don't agree with everything he says and does, either. What struck me about your post is that you seem to be attacking him personally and his personality. You were not debating the issues themselves. Also, you have not been a memeber of the FCP community prior to making this post that is so critical of Daniel the person. Why join a community only to begin by trashing its leader?

As far as your right to free speech concerned ... I think you have a right to free speech, too. I just think you used poor judgment when exercising it in this case. If you disagree with Daniel on the issue, then discuss the issue -- don't just attack him as a person. Nobody respects people (especially newbies) who do that. If you want your opinion taken seriously here, then present your case. You have yet to do that.

Oh ... and I accept your apology. I will look for your future posts.

Grow up. I too get angry when DN says naive things or attacks beliefs I hold in his blog, but to bash someone for just being themselves and expressing themselves in their own forum. Puh-leaze.
