Good bye. Not too worried about this. I still think he fights in 1.5-2 years when he needs the $ and there are no Lyoto opponents.

Can you paste the story so we don't have to make an account there.

QUOTE
I'm done fighting..

The UFC has done a lot for me but I think I have done more for them. The UFC bought WFA to get my contract & they saved my life, so I felt loyal to them. They pushed me into a fight with Chuck Liddel even when I clearly stated I wasn't ready to fight for the belt because the American fans didn't know me but I took the fight and didn't complain & after I won the American fans booed me for the first time which changed the way I saw them & it hurt me deeply.

Then before I can even get out of the cage they announced that I was fighting Dan Henderson without even asking me. After I beat Dan Henderson, I made history in becoming the first undisputed champion in MMA but was never even given the pride belt in the cage & I was never promoted as the undisputed champ. Later Anderson Silva was.

Then they had me coach TUF season 7 and fight Forrest and the fight was very controversial & normally when a fight is that close & controversial there is normally an instant replay. I can name a couple of instances. Instead they offered me the Vanderlei Silva fight which I gladly accepted even though I know it was a very risky fight for me to take because of all the drama that was happening to me at the time. I fought that fight with a jaw injury and then a couple weeks later Dana called me and asked me to fight Rashad. For the first time I said no, I didn't want to fight because it was such short notice & I wouldn't have had a long break between camp. Dana talked me into fighting Rashad anyway but Rashad refused the fight and so I had to fight Jardine as a favor to the UFC instead of getting my belt back (which wasn't even worth it to me financially).

Then I reinjured my jaw in the fight with Vanderlei & Jardine. Frank Mir gets hurt so they wanted to switch my fight from UFC 100 to the fight Frank couldn't make it to but I couldn't fight cause I needed jaw surgury. So they give Machida the fight against Rashad & they told me they want me to coach TUF season 10 against Rashad. That's why I wanted Rashad to win so bad but when Rashad got knocked out I told them I wanted to fight Machida for the belt but Dana told me if I coach TUF against Rashad that I could fight Machida afterwards cause this was a different type of ultimate fighter show they were doing. After I signed the contract Dana then changes his mind & says I have to fight Rashad & even told me what to say in the press & so my fans think I was scared to fight Machida. After all that I still never complained & I did it all.

Then this movie role came about that I have been trying to get for over a year & as soon as I found out I was close to getting it, I called Dana right away & asked to push the Memphis fight back just a month or so. I told him what this movie role meant to me. I told him that I used to bond with my father watching the tv show as a kid when my parents where still married & it represents the memories I had with my father when we lived together. My dad became an alcohalic & addicted to drugs & we grew apart. But after my dad got his life back together, I was so proud of my dad & I told him I would always take care of him in the future & make him proud of me. My dad & I are still very big fans of the show & I am basically doing this for the childhood memories I had spending time in front of the tv with my dad. Dana went on the internet & mocked me because of that & I still did nothing. Dana & I finally talked & we made up & then after that he went back on the internet & said some bullshit & he was talking bad about the movie when information is not even supposed to be released & talking about payments which is not even true could really hurt my future acting career, which could very well last longer than my fighting career. I'm not like Randy Couture. My body has been getting so many different injuries that I wont be able to fight until my forties & neither do I want to fight that long. So I feel like my second career could be in jeopardy.. so I'm done fighting. I've been getting negative reviews from the dumb ass fans that don't pay my bills or put my kids though college. So I'm hanging it up. I'm gonna miss all my loyal fans but hopefully they'll follow me to my new career & I will gain more loyal fans along the way. & all you hater fans out there can kiss my big black hairy ass! & anybody that don't like what I just said can come try to kick my ass!

I still feel the UFC is a great organization and I felt like I was very loyal to them but they didn't respect my loyalty but I wish the UFC the best. I did a lot of things for them. I wish no bad blood between us but I have kids & a family back in Memphis to provide for & thats all that matters to me!

Kimbo vs Roy Nelson next week. Niiiiiice

I read the MMA chat by Jon Anik of MMA Live fame every week on ESPN.com (Wednesday's at 1pm) and he's convinced that Kimbo won at least one fight on the show. No way they hype him this much for a one and done on the third ep. I hope he did win. Now I'm excited for next weeks show. Weeeeeeeeee

Having him fight on the 3rd episode is a bit shocking and makes me think the same. I thought they would tease him every episode until the last fight of the opening round.

Noticed last night when the fight started that their was a huge bloodstain in the octagon probally from the opening fight bloodbath. I kinda think now that they have multiple fights at once and edit it to look like their is time between fights.

Team Rampage had the picks for the first two fights. Rashad Evans had first pick which also meant that Team Rampage had to win both fights to maintain control of the picks. The first fight ended in a one-sded victory for Jon Madsen and left Team Rampage down 1-0 and losing control of the picks. The second fight was actually only about a half hour later. Abe Wagner blood still soaked the canvas as James McSweeney and Wes Shivers entered the Octagon.

Rampage had trouble pronouncing "McSweeney." Whether it was on purpose or not, it was still funny. James is a K-1 level striker and Wes is a big hoss of a man, who was a former NFL offensive lineman. This was a much better match up than Abe and Jon.

You can see in the training sessions, that Kimbo Slice is getting a lot of attention from the coaches and more one-on-one training. This makes it look like Kimbo is going to fight this episode but it only was there to pique interest as to when will Kimbo really fight. Also in the training portion of this episode, you see Team Rashad coaches call out Roy "Big Country" Nelson. If you knew Roy you would no he is a know nonsense kind of guy. He does work hard and train seriously but likes to have fun also. Rashad just seemed to take it the wrong way, Roy said it best in his confessional. It was like when two masters of a sport come together they butt heads. Roy being a jiu jitsu black belt and Rashad being a former world champion, they butted heads.

The fight starts off and they are both feeling each other out. James uses leg kicks and then Wes takes him down, goes for a submission but can't finish it. The rest of the round is pretty much James kicking Wes in the leg and running. The second round was more of the same and Big Wes was tired, had a hard time chasing after the hit and running McSweeney. At the end of the second round, I and a lot of the other guys thought it was going to a third round. The judges didn't agree. two of them said James won both rounds and the third judge said it should go to a third round. James won a majority Decision with his feet, I mean he kicked and ran, kicked and ran.

I personally believe there is confidence and then there is arrogance and James Mcsweeney is an arrogant ass. You could see that in his prefight and postfight comments. After the hype about him being such a destructive striker, I wasn't personally impressed with James after that fight. Wes did all he could but just ran out of gas and paid the price.

The end of the episode showed the next fight picks. Team Rashad gained control with the victories in the first two fights. Team Rashad picked Nelson to fight the No. 1 pickfrom Team Rampage, Kimbo. Tune back next week to see what unfolds will the street fighter be able to knockout the black belt. This is truly a throw back fight to the old days of UFC when it was discipline versus discipline.

If that fight happens, I like Rashad vs. Dan Henderson wayyyy more than I like Rashad vs. Thiago Silva. This is all assuming Henderson really would rather fight Lyoto over Anderson again, which he said he knows he one fight away from a title shot in both divisions and thinks a 205 fight would be bigger than a Nate fight.

I thought Shivers won the fight
bmtphs05
I was convinced it'd have a 3rd round. Thank god I was wrong.

Here's some more from Rampage, earlier tonight.

“… Dana went on the internet & started talking bad about my decision,” the entry reads. “All we had to do was come to a certain type of argreement or understanding, which later came after a lot of trash talk from Dana. My manager flew to Vegas & talked to them & tried to work things out like a MAN. & still I keep quite & I didn't talk trash back on the internet. The only reason why I'm even talking now is because I feel like I owe my fans an explanation because I am a MAN, a real MAN. Yeah I made good money with the UFC more than Pride, but I made both shows more money than they made me. I didn't care too much about Pride treating me like crap cause I was an American in a Japanese company. Now in my own country, I feel like I'm being disrepected. Everything is not about how much money you make. You could be the richest man in the world but if nobody repsects you then it don't mean s--t. You can't buy respect. It should be earned. & thats what I'm all about.”

“Now Rashad wanna put his two cents in. Rashad remains to be a boy under me. He wins a few fights, and some of them I thought the judges fell asleep during the fight & woke up & saw him playing with his nipples & guessed he won. He knocked Chuck Liddel out when Chuck wasn't even the same man anymore. & now he thinks he's on my level. Yeah he talks about how he beat Forrest & I lost. But when I fought Forrest that was the worst Rampage I had ever seen. & I still know in my heart I won that fight. So now he's Mr. All Cocky & says I got a big mouth & talk a lot of smack. If my memory serves me correctly, he's the one that got into my face after the Jardine fight & started talking trash when he was the one that was originally supposed to fight me that night, but he told Dana on the phone he didn't want to fight. He wanted to keep his belt longer. Now, I'm not saying wether or not I would have beaten Machida, but I wouldn't have went out like a b---h like the way he did.”

“When I told Dana I did not want my belt back & that I just wanted to make money, it was around the time when they gave me Vanderlei & actually it was around the same time when my mind wasn't right (my mind was at TRUCK status) & that's the way I felt because I felt I had been robbed out of my belt. After the Jardine fight I did want my belt back because my family was so proud of me when I was champion & I want to make my family proud cause now I finally feel like my family cares about me & they accept me & this is what I've been wanting my whole childhood... for my family to like me. If I got to beat some ass for my family to like me, so be it. But now, I'm a grown man & I'll be damned if anybody disrespects me. I'm not having it, it's not happening!”

Dana says Kimbo will fight in the UFC following TUF. Rashad wants to train with him in Greg Jacksons camp. Could we see a Kimbo nipple tweek? The ratings fell from last week but was still the second highest ever rated TUF. Next week should be intresting.

Why would they not hype it? They have him there, it's a big draw, you saw what it did, next week will have even bigger numbers. It's not like he won't be on the show from there on out. His evolution as a mixed martial artist, as well as him getting ****ed with in the house will carry some ratings anyway. I don't see why, if Kimbo lost, they wouldn't hype him as much as possible.

I was upset we got literally no Wes Sims last week. I thought he would be, by far, the best part of the season. He is absolutely the craziest fighter I've ever heard speak.

Does anyone else think Kimbo could have beaten either of those guys last week? What in the hell was Rampage doing? Did he think they wouldn't go for him right away? If I'm Kimbo, I'd be pissed.

Belfort/Anderson is interesting but not sure he deserves a title shot when he has never fought in the UFC 185 division before. Probably becuase I'm a Hendo fan, who beat Franklin... and Pahlares... and Ko'd Bisping... whatever, still a good fight. Want to see Hendo at 205, though.

I thought it was a decent fight, until both gassed. Which was about a minute into the first round if I remember right. So, yeah pretty boring after that.

It amazes me how these guys gas out so quickly when they look like they are in pretty good shape. It makes the GSP's of the world look even more impressive when they fight 5 rounds with little fatigue.
BigLebowski
I just got around to watching the latest TUF episode. How in the world can a judge give that first round to McSweeney? That is silly.

If McSweeney is really a 1st pick then this season is going to be pretty ugly.

Well, GSP is a lot smaller, so it's a lot easier for him to go the distance. What would be a better comparison is a guy like Lesnar, who has yet to really gas in a big way. Yeah, he's slowed down, but you see some of these other giant guys just completely die after one submission attempt or one big flurry. Much the same way Bob Sapp would.

I agree with the last post. If he's truly a #1 pick, this season will really suck hard, especially if Kimbo loses this week.

Good point but I'm impressed by anyone, no matter their size, that can go 5 rounds and not die. I wasn't just talking about this season's heavyweights but all kinds of fighters from past seasons and pretty much any fight where a guy enters the ring and you think "man that dude is in good shape," and 1:30 into it he is sucking wind. It is just one of the things that makes me realize what a fat tub of shit I am, and how hard the top pros must train.
bdc30
not to lose sight of the fact that most of these guys are twice the size of gsp. I'm sure an oafish 270 pounder gasses at a much faster rate than a lean trim 170 pound guy.

edit, just saw that outsider already said that, nvm wink.gif

Swick vs Hardy at 105 for #1 contender status. 105 is looking pretty damn decent for a free card. Either way should be a breeze for GSP.

Kimbo requested beard protection and brought gun to training
September 28, 2009 01:36 PM

By Dave Peze | September 26, 2009
FightLine.com Staff

The fighter known as “Kimbo Slice” has helped deliver the strongest ratings in the 10 season history of The Ultimate Fighter series. In an interview with Mike Chiappetta from Spike TV, UFC president Dana White recently revealed that Slice requested a clause in his contract that would protect the fighter's trademark beard during his time in the TUF house.

Pranks in the TUF house have become commonplace in nearly every TUF season and Slice and his manager were concerned that someone would shave his beard while he slept. Aside from the unusual “beard protection” request that White could not guarantee, he described Slice and his manager and as very professional and likable during the contract negotiation process.

In another tale of Slice's eccentricities, his TUF 10 castmate Justin Wren described a story to the TapouT Radio show where, “He (Slice) went down to ATT to train and he got arm-barred. Kimbo doesn’t like to tap so he didn’t tap and the guy hurt his arm so he came back in there with a gun!”

Wren continued, “He felt the guy was really trying to hurt him so he said if someone is going to really try and hurt me, in my career, that is how my make money for my family, so then he said he went and got a gun and was starting to come back in there and they stopped him at the door . . . that was straight out of his mouth.”

Surely the cast members hearing that story helped ensure that Kimbo's beard stayed intact.

There were so many great one liners by Kimbo.

"It's not the enemy, it's the inna me, the inner me."

Grocery, what was our bet again? I need to go check that. I may have won.

I still think Kimbo does something in this show. Either that or he's getting paid a TON to do all this press by the UFC.

He said that he's training for a fight in December, so it's either the TUF finale (on the undercard or he won a fill in fight) or 107 in Memphis. He won't be on the non-televised portion, that's for sure.

Agreed, Rampage not coming off so well this season. I think we are also seeing why Greg Jackson's camp is so good as well. Dana better not have been hoping this season was going to produce serious HW prospects.

Just got done watching the fights. Very tough main event to judge. I thought it was a clear 48-47 fight , but it is very debatable which way it should have went. Henderson might be triple jointed. I really was pleased with how active both fighters were for the full 5 rounds.

How about Fabiano getting triangled....that was horrible on his part.

And please don't ever, ever let that judge who scored the Assuncao fight 30-27 FOR Jabouin work again. What the **** was that person watching. So disgusting

After I fast forwarded to the 2nd fight I had 33 minutes on my counter and had watched only 1 minute of fighting. I know they are free, but come the **** on.

Sorry newb question.

Are the fights scored on overall points? Or round by round? I thought Cerrone won rounds 1, 4, and 5, he wasn't dominating though. And Henderson dominated rounds 2 and 3. If the judges do see it as Cerrone winning 3 rounds to 2 does he win? Or does Henderson's domination in rounds 2 and 3 carry over for the overall victory?

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it is scored like boxing with 10 pts to the round winner and 9 or less to the loser. So, if they thought Henderson completely dominated rounds 2 and 3, they could have scored them 10-8. So, theoretically he could have won 47-46, even though Cerrone won 3 rounds to 2.

theoretically, yes. A 10-8 round is uber dominating though and rds 2 and 3 were just 10-9 rounds. I thought Hendo pulled out rd 1 as well even though Cerrone tried to throw on some pretty solid submissions.

Cerrone said that he though Hendo clearly won the fight so that's good enough for me. What a great fight though. Definitely in the top 10 of the year.

I thought Henderson won. Good fights, though.

I just want Rampage to go away. If he doesn't want to fight, that's fine, then go away. It sucks we have to see him every week on TUF. When TUF is over, I don't want to read more articles or interviews on him.

Talks of Houston Alexander vs. Kimbo at 107. Makes perfect match making sense from the UFC. Someone that will either get KO'd by Kimbo and make him look good, or someone that will KO Kimbo and make him look a lot worse than he did in the Roy Nelson fight, therefore hindering the future that he could have making money for other promotions. I also think they keep him around if he wins, and give him a ground guy to make him look bad, going 0-3 in the UFC and looking like dirt on the way out.

Perfect match up for both guys. Probally wont last a minute. I like Houston here, think his hand speed is a little to much for Kimbo.

Looks like Houston has added some wicked leg kicks to his repertoire. I just hope this wouldn't be on the televised card. We'd really be getting ripped of a fight because you know this one could be one of the fill in's.
