wow really surprised no one has mentioned the card for UFC 107.
Penn vs sanchez and Rampage vs evans.

Should be entertaining.

Rampage Rashad is probably getting moved because of Rampage's acting. Penn/Diego will take its spot and the third November show has been scrapped.

Shitty newsday all around. was really looking forward to Rasha/Rampage. Move 107 to Vancouver where the movie is being filmed imo. Swick pulling out of 103 is a bummer too. Kinda leaves GSP without an opponent, at least at mw. Maybe the winner of Kampan/Daley, but thats kinda weak.
grocery_mony
Its hard to be a Rampage fan right now. While I dont blame him for wanting to branch out and have a prominent role in a probible blockbuster movie he is really screwing over the UFC and especially Rashad. He made the commitment to TUF and a big time fight. The UFC really got behind it with super hyped TUF season and bringing back the Primetime series to hype the fight. They even commited(I dont know I could see them backing out of Memphis now without their hometown hero) to event in Memphis. Now everything is on hold. I cant see Rashad fighting in the interm for fears of a loss diminishing a eventual Rampage fight. So It looks like both Page and Rashad will have been on the shelf for a year before they finnally meet. And the TUF season will be distant from fans minds costing some of the hype. I just cant beleive the UFC didnt have their ass covered here.

So does Dana. Should be a good fight if Huerta still has his head in the game. Maynard is a beast but Huerta is also probally a top 5 lw despite losing to Florian. Big fight for Nate aswell. He could find himself looking for work if he doesnt come up with a win. Wish the Stout Nover fight was on the main card.
CaneBrain
Bob Arum, the legendary boxing promoter, took some hilariously bigoted swipes at MMA the other day in some weird attempt to prop up boxing. My favorites:

"Our crowd is ethnic.....MMA is a bunch of skinheads watching other guys who look like skinheads."

And the winner:

"For me, and people like me, MMA is not something they ever care to see....They've watched it. It's horrible. Guys rolling around like homosexuals on the ground..."

Awesome.

true that huerta was a top 5 but i think he will fight cautiously to try and protect his pretty little face from being smashed in, as for nate i think he acts a little to cocky for someone whos done nothing but win a show because his opponent blew his shoulder out, and the nover stout fight should have been in the main card

Yea for about the last minute it was a steady stram pouring out. Rampage wasnt much of a coach his first season and from the looks of him tonight it will probally be the same. But he is entertaing as hell. TITTAYS!!!
grocery_mony
Just saw on the replay when Kimbo was introduced and it cut away to Dana talking about him. He said millions of people will be tuning in to see Dana eat some crow and prove him wrong, then it looked like he had to stop himself from bursting out laughing.
Ron_Mexico
Rampage is there just to clown, get paid and get more exposure. I think he likes being on tv and it paid off, he's now in movies. Guess his plan worked.

Rashad is more of an intellect and will take all of it seriously because he was a contestant. Rampage was funny though.

I do like Condit and his gas tank won him that fight.
Quarry v Creduer was a damn slugfest.
Poor Guillard, he seems like he should've destroyed Diaz. His head movement was fantastic. I don't think Diaz could have hit him once if he tried. I think he started to get tired and he got sloppy.

I thought those 30-27 scores in the Huerta fight were bad. I was pretty sure Huerta won the 2nd clearly. I think it was the second. I remember thinking he won one round easily. Maynard's a bore with weak, one punch stand up and resorts to lay and pray when pushed. Too bad. I'd rather watch Huerta 100 times before Maynard.

Yea a couple of company men judging that imo. I think Huerta had a shot of winning both the first and second. Not a bad decision but 30-27 was ridiculas. Its to bad Huerta is gone. Not tapping from that kimura was solid.

The guy's cut on his head on TUF was freaking huge. I had to look away when the doctor was messing with it.
bdc30
With a gash that size and blood literally pouring out from his head, how was he allowed to come out for round 2?? At what point is the corner responsible for making sure the guy doesn't get killed in there?
grocery_mony
4.1 million viewers for the first episode beating the previous high of 2.8 million. To bad the fight was so lame. I wonder how many of those were actually expecting Kimbo to figh in the first episode? My guess is he will be the last to fight in the first round. They gotta have a can in the cast somewhere do give Kimbo a shot of winning.

I was thinking that too, that river of blood was nasty. If it was a fight on a regular card, like the Fight Night earlier or PPV, would it have been stopped?

no it would not have been stopped and there have been bloodier ones, the bj penn and joe stevenson, votor belfort and marvin eastman, kenny florian and shawn sherk, as for the fight being boring it was but the blood made it a lot more better

It's not about the blood. Did you see the GAPING HOLE in his forehead? They implied you could see bone (his skull). You can bleed quite a bit from a cut in the right place...not a big deal. But when you have that big of an opening in your head...a stoppage would not at all surprise or upset me.

a stoppage would not have surprised me either i was just stating that fights that have been just as bloody or bloodier have not been stopped, as for his cut is was pretty huge but not as big as the eastman one and i dont think the cut was that big by the end of the first round i would say it got bigger when he kept punching and elbowing him in the second cause the doctors are pretty good at stopping fights becasue of cuts

Not sure that stepping on, then taking your clothes off, then taking your underwear off counts as 3 tries in my book. He only came in over by 1/4 lb and didn't take long to make it.

Rich is going to have his hands full tonight.

Did the Spike feed go mental for everyone?

Wow, so nobody watched 103 huh? It was a pretty weak looking card...but some good fights/knockouts.
dna4ever
I watched it, not much to talk about other than one dudes nose who was bleeding like a water hose.

104 should be pretty sweet.
Ron_Mexico
It was the first card that I've missed in probably a year and I regret it. Looks like a lot of action, ko's, subs. I don't think anything went the distance. dos Santos is a real up and commer and I'm guessing Belfort will probably get Silva now?
Sal Paradise
I was at bdubs watching it but I was much more concerned with all the laaaaadies tryin to get with me.

I thought it was a decent card. I was kind of disappointed with Cro Cop and Trigg. I was hoping they would be decent so they could get some excitement in their respective divisions, but they were both awful.

Vitor should get the shot and probally will. He did something Hendo couldnt in ko'ing Franklin. He has faced a who's who of mma over his career in everything from mw to hw. I think Hendo vs Marquart should determine who gets a rematch not both of them getting a rematch.

i dont think both hendo and nate should get a rematch but i think the winner of the two should get a title shot first before vitor, and both hendo and nate have beat a fair share of top fighters over there careers

Walker to start training next month

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Associated Press

NEW YORK -- Herschel Walker is starting a new career in mixed martial arts.

The 47-year-old former NFL running back said Monday that he has signed a multi-fight contract with promoter Strikeforce. Walker will begin a 12-week training camp next month in San Jose, Calif.

The 1982 Heisman Trophy winner already holds a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Anyone else think this is a bad idea???

I hated this last card. Thought it was some of the worst fights available on ppv.

The Ultimate Fight Night on Spike was much better on Wednesday.

Am I the only one TOTALLY pumped for UFC 106?

Brock Lesnar Vs. Shane Carwin and Tito Ortiz Vs. Mark Coleman

Lesnar/Carwin fight is going to be ridiculous; I mean RIDICULOUS

Looking forward to Tito's Ali like return to the ring/octagon as well.

Its intriguing because Carwin has the one punch power that it might take to beat Brock. With his wrestling background he might be able to keep it on their feet. I still expect a Lesnar ground and pound victory though. Tito being back is good but Coleman isnt much competition for him. To old slow and sloppy. The Vegas cards always seem to be better at least from a star power perspective. Aslo hope Amir can rebound with a win over Baroni. The next card is weak in terms of depth but will get it just to watch Machida. He is fun to watch.

Good bye. Not too worried about this. I still think he fights in 1.5-2 years when he needs the $ and there are no Lyoto opponents.
