I just realized, I think this is the worst card I have seen from the UFC.
Franklin looked scared to fight. Henderson was truly boring.
Rua and Coleman should fight again.......but in another organization.
Thumbs up to Lytle and Marcus.
Palhares and Horn sucked.
Kang and Belcher was ok. But it was hillarious to hear Belcher talk about himself being in contention for a title shot.
Wow. Just horrible.

Rounds 1 and 2 were pretty much toss ups, and dependent on what the judges felt like as franklin won the standup and henderson won on the ground. Round three was clearly Franklin. IMO there's was no way Franklin won both 1 and 2, the judge was a tard
It should be Horn vs. Coleman next as they are both at the same speed right now....way too slooooooooooooow
Shogun should just quit if he's going to show up like that, it's pathetic.

Franklin/Rua might be entertaining. Rich should be able to win that one easily.
I give Bisbing a decent shot at Hendo. Aside from Tito, Bisbing has given Rashad the toughest test in his career in what was an incredibly boring fight. Incredibly boring fights is becoming a trend for Hendo so I am not anticipating this fight.

Unfortunately Franklin just doesn't seem to have it anymore. He seemed SO dominant fight after fight after fight, but after getting totally manhandled by Silva he just hasn't had it anymore.
Same thing happened to Hughes right around the same time.
They were two of my favorite to watch (Hughes' attitude and general assholeishness aside) - but lately, not so much

Henderson and Hammil are two fights where your not gonna look impressive against. Fights against Wandy, Lidell and Shogun would be very entertaining fights for Rich. Thye were replaying the UFC from Montral late last night on a sports channel up here, that escape from the armbar Lutter had on him was absolutely amazing.

I thought that Franklin looked really good against Hamil. He picked him apart. He looked really scared in his fight against Henderson. Everything he did was half hearted. I felt like he was using kicks because he didn't want to get close. It wasn't as though he was fighting a smart fight and keeping the distance. He seems to have lost his killer instinct. Perhaps that is what happens when Silva destroys you twice? He looked MUCH better against Hamil.

Rumors so far
-Anderson Silva (#1 Middleweight in the World)* vs. Thales Leites
-Chuck Liddell (#5 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua
-Tamdan McCrory vs. Jonathan Goulet
-David Loiseau vs. Ed Herman
As for the last show, it was a big disappointment to me. Shogun, Coleman, add them to the list of Pride letdowns. I mean, I never expected much from Coleman but Shogun has been a huge bust, seeing as he was always one of the best. As for Kang, he obviously got caught. I expect big things from him in the future, but he just telegraphed that shot.
The next one will more than make up for it though.

Speaking of which, I need to call the local bar.
I want to watch Fedor fight. I've never seen him fight live. I'd love to see him destroy Alovski, build the mystique a little.

I did but wasn't shocked by his performance. He's old and hasn't cut weight in like a dozen years I laughed more at shogun not being able to finish at the end of the second and the fact that I had him losing the third before he put Coleman away. The guy was so hyped coming in from pride(deservedly) but has looked so bad.
Also I liked the Hendo/ Franklin fight. I thought Rich had a good game plan to use the body kicks as he has against Hamil the problem is Hendo has been around a million times longer then Hamil and apapted accordingly. Biggest problem with Franklin in this one imo was it was three rounds no five.
FWIW I don't find Henderson's style boring at all but understand why the masses do.

Good to see Shogun so apologetic. At least he knows he sucked the joint out. I think it makes the opening line of a Chuck/Shogun fight VERY interesting.

Fights with Rashad Evans and Matt Hamil is protected? Sure he hasnt fought anybody worthwhile at 185 but has destroyed the no names and a juiced up Leben.
Shogun also stunk up the joint vs Forrest and gassed in that fight aswell. If it gets passed the 3 minute mark I expect Chuck to get the KO.

I know he gassed against Forrest... but he used the excuse of his knee and didn't man up. I guess he did the same here but he has admitted he knows he sucked and could be better, which is a start.
Hamil, I'm sorry, is not an elite fighter. I love him to death, plus he BEAT Bisping. And the Rashad fight was fine for Bisping and the UFC. They knew he was capable of the cut and could beat Day and Leben, who are far from great themselves, and then get a TUF coach/title shot. No doubt in my mind the UFC sees Bisping as their poster boy overseas and doesn't want to lose all the money he can bring in for them. Not saying I can blame them, but I definitely think it makes most people overvalue Bisping's talent.

Yea Hamil isnt elite but he isnt a pushover and Bisbing did recover from being rocked early. I thought that fight was closer than alot of people because outside of that first round it was close and if i remember correctly the 2nd and 3rd could be scored either way. The reason why I thought Coleman might beat Shogun is that Shogun gassed against Forrest and got dominated, his brother Ninja though not on the same level as Shogun had a sudden and dramatic drop off in his abilites and they share DNA.
So with Liddell/Shogun and Rampage/Jardine booked whats next for Forrest and Rashad? If Machida looks good maybe he finnally gets a shot but I cant see anything out there for Forrest right now. Unless he is really gonna be out till the Fall and see where the chips fall after the Spring.
edit: maybe Rich for Forrest?

I'm assuming he's there on those rankings behind GSP and Anderson. I personally find the P4P rankings pointless, but all I'll say is Fedor just hasn't lost. Ever. With the competition he's faced, it's amazing. No other fighter in the world can say that.

Technically, he has a loss on his record from a cut.
Did anyone catch "Fedor: The Baddest Man on the Planet" on Fox Sports? Good stuff. Followed him to his little town in Russia where he lives and trains. More interview from him than I have seen in a long time.
I just don't see how Arlovski has much of a chance the way he has looked lately. He can throw some bombs and there is always that chance, but he just hasn't looked like the same fighter he once was. Other fights look good on paper. I don't think I will order the PPV, but if someone I know is having it I would def pitch in to watch.

- Should have been a no contest as it was before the 90 second mark in the first round, but was ruled incorrectly.
-Yes. It was an awesome, awesome show.
The more I look over BJ/GSP, the more I love BJ. With his chin, take-down defense, and jiu jitsu, I see no winning strategy for GSP other than trying to stay away and pitty pat him with the reach for a decision, but staying away from BJs constant jab for a guy with a questionable chin is hard. I love BJ at +150.

Agree. I'd take BJ all day as the underdog. He needs to do something within 3 rounds though because I see him on his back a bit in the 4th and 5th round. I don't think GSP will be doing a lot of damage, but the judges just like giving it to the guy on top no matter what.
Does anyone have any thoughts on Babalu over Sokoudjou at -165? I am watching the weigh-ins on ESPN right now to see the size difference, but I think Babalu will be able to choke him out fairly easily. I was really surprised to see Fedor at only -316.

Can Sok make 185? It doesn't seem so but he said he came in at 209 and only had to cut 3 pounds as he normally comes in at ~215. I guess he does deserve some slack as in his first nine fights fought Babalu, Luiz Crane, Machcida, Nakamura, Little Nog, and Arona.

I obv did not buy the card. Went 2/2 (Babalu and Fedor) and should have been 3/4, but missed the deadlines on Kirill and Barnett.
I thought the fights were pretty good. Arlovski looked like the Arlovski of old, obv due to the beard, even when he got KTFO. Glass jaw ftl. Is it just me or do the KO's just keep getting worse and worse? Even the fight that didn't get aired because of time had a huge KO.
My only bet on tonight's card is Varner over Cerrone. Varner was -161 and I think he is just way too much for Cerrone atm. I actually like Cerrone quite a bit because is a very exciting young fighter, but I think Varner takes this one the vast majority of the time.

The Arlovski fight was pretty good. For a second there I thought it was going to be a good fight, then WHAMMO. I think the Barnett/Fedor fight should be good. I'm not too sure what's left for Affliction once that fight has happened.
