Yea hard to believe this ppv cost just as much as 84. This card has been cursed from the start. If the Bisbing Leben fight was still on I probally would have got it.

UFC is a "victim" of their own awesomeness. Not unlike a Company that grows earnings by 20% for 4 straight yrs, then falling back to 16%.

It's the reason (my theory) they seem(em) slow sometimes to put together those matchups we all want to see. Can't blow your wad all at once. This card is main event by committe. I'm very excited for it.

I don't know, it just seems that they have enough marketable fighters now, that they could stack the cards a little bit better. I guess it all depends on how often that the fighters want to fight. With the money that some are making, I'm guessing that most would want to fight more often.

I know that I'm more in the minority, but I think a bigger card every two months would do huge buys. But, like I've also said, if the business model they are using now is working and making them money, then stick with it. But I do think they should test run my theory, take a month of, put at least three premium fights at the top of the next card and air 6 fights with known, marketable fighters, and hype the dog piss out of it, and see what kind of buy rate they get. I don't know, I'm not cheap by any means, but I won't shell out $60 bucks a month for two fights a card, at best. That's $720 bucks a year. That's nothing to sneeze at.

Sadly, I don't really have many MMA friends locally that even remotely get into it the way I do, so I end up eating the whole cost. I'm sure having some friends over, grab booze and food, and everyone throw $10 bucks into a hat, it would offset the cost. Either way, I'm just being selfish and want a card like the last one.

They never really seem to have great cards when the UFC is not in Vegas. If you look at the past UFC's I assume it's a trend. Obv I could be wrong though. If memory serves, all of the best cards have been in Vegas though.

Having said that, I will order the UFC this weekend like I do every time they have a PPV.

that has to be illegal or something damn it. I may need to write spike a letter to protest. I remember FX used to do it all the time during rescue me. freaking infuriating.

also, I doubt I'll even watch the fight this weekend unless something strange happens. I think my buddy that always gets the fights will be out of town, I don't have the ability (nor can I afford) to get it myself at my house, and like ron says, it just isn't all that stacked of a fight to get worked up over. unfortunately those are usually the ones that end up being the best. damn it. oh well.

I'm sure if you look hard enough (or more likely not hard at all...thats what she said) you can find a place in your area that shows it. We goto a bar that uses a private room to air it with a couple of 60" HDTV's at the front of the room (and 20 other TV's around the room). $5 cover charge. Much cheaper than buying the event.

So, will you be buying and watching the fight at noon (it plays at 3pm live in EST) or will you wait and watch it at night? Also, how does that work on the west coast? The events go off at 7pm usually? Weird. That west coast is wacky I tell ya

yeah, my favorite sports bar shows the big cards, I'm not sure about the mediocre ones, but who the hell wants to be in a sports bar with a bunch of posers wearing their Tapout hats sideways and their too tight Affliction T-shirts, all while getting bombed and their manly juices flowing. That's one to be purchased, although I'm afraid too much of the credit will go to Lesner. I like GSP, Florian showed me something and for some reason, I'm not a Huerta fan. He hasn't shown me a ton and I think he's the UFC's golden child, and I love for golden children to get beat up, or something.

I must have been drunk when picking Jorge over Martin; or I overrated the fact Martin's been out for awhile.
I got Alves, too. He seems hungrier

I put in a wager on Day based on Performitys persuasive ways.

I'm really pumped for this card. Big names don't matter much to me, just good match ups.

yeah, that CB is a real douche. It's funny, I was thinking what a jerkoff he was, then they showed Forrest thinking he was a douche as well and I was glad it wasn't just me.

I think the jit guy from LA has a chance. He's an old school type in the sense that he'll take his beating just so long as he can catch an arm or leg and end it.

I was just looking at the card for 86 and that isn't an exciting card either. I think 85 & 86 should be combined, but we all know something like that would never happen.

So I finally got to watch Faber/Pulver as the first DVR was cut off at the beginning of the 2nd round.

I think Mir might be the best ringside announcer in MMA. However, he kept saying that this fight was close and Faber was just edging the rounds out. I have to think that was him being modest. IMO Faber dominated that fight from start to finish. There is no way that fight was close with Faber just barely winning the rounds.

I don't see anyone in the WEC competing with Faber in the 135-155lb classes. I think he is top 5 in 155's for the UFC. Would be sweet if he could get the rematch with Tyson Griffin. That would def be worth the price of admission.

yeah he said he's a natural 145er. also, watching the faber/pulver prefight thing, urijah said he didn't really have to cut weight to make 145... jesus christ. the dude is all muscle and he doesn't have to cut any weight. is he like 4'3" or something? I don't really think it would be a smart move on his part for him to move up either, but I do think its interesting to hear dana express interest in seeing him in the UFC (at least thats the way I took it) while saying he shouldn't go to 155. 145 class in the UFC? I know, the guy is just an animal. But that's what really sucks about these lighter weight guys, the competition is thinner at those weights. Especially for a guy like Torres. He's gonna be stuck fighting hard headed, moderately skilled japanese cats for the rest of his career.

Now, after a nice run, what the WEC should and probably will do is have Torres and Faber fight at a catch weight. If Faber doesn't cut at all for 145 and Torres has to cut a little, a nice 140lb fight to determine the best light fighter in the world. I'd buy that fight.

Outside of the WEC, there is definitely some competition for Faber out there. I think Kid beats Faber. I also think Torres would beat Faber as well. I also think Wagnney Fabiano and Faber would be a toss-up fight as well. Kid would destroy Faber in the standup and their wrestling would cancel each other out and it'd end up being a standup battle. With Torres, it would end up being a standup fight until Torres starts winning that and Faber resorts to taking Torres down. On the ground, I think Faber has nothing for Torres. Jens pretty much shut down Faber's attack, Torres would probably catch him in a submission from the guard or sweep him and finish him on top. A fight with Fabiano would be really interesting as well and really could go either way. Fabiano is well rounded with an awesome BJJ game that would give Faber all he could handle.

No not at all. Houston came in as a huge underdog to fight Jardine and won. He has also been fighting in MMA for a long time, just not in large events.

The UFC does not build a card around Alexander and try and make him something he is not. EliteXC on the other hand........
