I started a Google Group to try and collect any players interested in live Pot Limit Omaha in the Los Angeles area. Once we have enough interest, we can start a home game or talk to a local cardroom to see about hosting (easiest might be the epoker room at Hollywood Park, if pokerpro tables handle Pot Limit).

Anyone interested can sign up at http://groups.google.com/group/omaha-la

Spread the word so we can get a game consistently rolling!

Not many Americans play PLO i guess. Very few of them here if none. Good luck anyway.

So many gamblers though, and with it becoming harder to play online, this might be just the way to get the Yanks interested in PLO!

We have a trial game, Sunday, 11 Feb at 3pm at Hollywood Park. Jay from the HPC is going to set us up with some tourney chips and let us demo PLO on these epoker tables. If we like it, we can continue playing with cash or just use the info to recruit more players for the next game.

I've not played on the poker pro tables yet, so I reserving my judgement until I actually play on one this Sunday.

No other casino has responded yet to my question of them spreading a game if we have the players interested.

In Ireland, I was used to playing an uncapped 1-1 game (min 100 buy-in), so that's what I am leaning for here, or at least 300-500x if we have to cap it.

the pokerpro tables played fine. a bit of getting used to not having cards or chips, but the game was fast (50-60 hands/hr) and the rake was decent ($3 +$1 jackpot for a 2-2 w/100 min no cap buy-in).

We peaked at 7 players, not bad for the first time running it there. We ran a couple sit n go's when we only had 5 people, those were decent as well.

We'll try it again next Sunday afternoon.
