In the game I was at Friday night, late in the evening/early morning, the stuck players always suggest PLO to try and get some chips moving. I have about 950 in front of me at this point. A woman who I had never played with but who is a supervisor at a local legal poker club was the villain in this particular hand. She had a little over 800 in front of her (up from 100 buy in), which she kept bragging about since it was her birthday.
Okay, I'm on the button with ATT3, so I raise because it has cards that all connect! Except the three. But three out of four isn't bad (except for in Omaha...but I digress).
So I pot it for 10 dollars. She calls from the SB. Heads up Omaha!
Flop:
Ad 10d 10h
She checks. I pot it. She calls.
Turn:
3h (giving me quads, three different boats and four pair)
She checks. I pot. She re-pots. Now, she was a bit aggressive with draws and I thought there was a chance she had the Ace with a heart flush since my ace was spade-ish. I thought she might lay it down to a re-pot, so I decided to smooth call and hope the heart hit.
River:
2s
Okay, that card sucked. But still, she potted it which put her just about all in! We got the rest in and I flip my cards up casually. She nods appreciatively at my hand and waits for about ten seconds looking impressed. I know you've all seen this before...when someone plans on slow rolling you, they nod longingly at your big hand like they've never seen anything so strong but, oh, wait a minute...look what I have! After that, she smiled and goes, "nuts!" and flips up her hand:
Kd Qd Jd 8c
Man, I wish I even had a moderate bit of skill at PLO because people certainly suck at it.
