The other day I was reading about the best meals in Vegas on a pokersite(pokernews i think) and one of the dishes was lobster benedict at The Terrace Point Cafe at the Wynn. Its made with a potato pancake instead of the traditional english muffin, topped with asparagus, bacon, lobster, poached egg and hollandaise. $19 which isnt bad concidering I paid $16 for an ommelete at the Grand Lux last time in Vegas. Its on my must try for my next trip(the Fall cant come soon enough).

lobster and potato pancakes are a great match, not sure about the bacon in there, i mean bacon is awesome but i don't see how it helps the dish in this case, $19 for that dish sounds pretty damn good

season (kosher salt and cracked pepper) dust with flour and brown lightly in olive oil in an oven capable pan or better dutch oven

oven at 325 preheated

add mirepoix and herbs (thyme, rosemary, garlic cloves) worchestershire sauce, beef stock and red wine to just almost cover

top with tin foil or parchment paper but don't seal you don't want to steam them

place in oven till tender, 2-3 hours

you can also add some honey, grated ginger and soy if you can to do and asian themed one

awesome, thank you.

wife is making lettuce cups for dinner. Diced chicken and steak, finely chopped celery, water chestnuts, carrots and bean sprouts, topped with some hoison sauce, wrapped in iceberg lettuce cups.

me: I had what I had yesterday but...
me2: eeewwwww
me: not EXACTLY what I had yesterday. I pooh-poohed that
me2: no you liked it
me: Ssssshhhuuuut it
Chris Berman: back back back back back back back
me: yes it would be funny if there was a SNL sketch where Bobby Moynihan played you in boxers doing your ironing whilst also doing kegel exercises whilst being videotaped through your hotel room's key hole saying things like you just said
me2: only slightly funny
Chuck: ANYWAY
me: yes. so I had leftovers of what I had yesterday
BG: rice with corn?
me: take it up with Uncle Ben, GGaaaii.
me2: for some reason Aunt Ben doesn't work as well as Uncle Jemima
me: so I had the same thing as I had yesterday except today I poured a little pawwsstta sauce (barilla's tomato and basil) towards the end
me2: but you were a rebel and used 2 1/2 teaspoons of water for the rice instead of 2
me: well, ladies, I wasn't gonna say it myself but it's true
you: wait, what did you have yesterday?
me:
you:
me: GENERAL!
you: CICERO!
me: no I mean gen poop
you: huh?
me: I mean go over there and read that thread where I talked about what I ate yesterday
me2: duh
you:
me: chicken and apple sausage, bell peppers, onion, and tomatoes with uncle ben's rice (garden style or something. rice with some peas, carrots, and corn in it (some = tiny tiny tiny bit))
someone: I don't think you get the point of this thread
me: that's because you're a retard
me2: harsh
me: a re-tard?
me2: acceptable
loogie: ring. ring.
me: how dare you.
Joey: it's at the Wwwaaallllllll....
WBP: fly ball. caught.
me: I'm still baffled about what the forum equivalent of the hidden ball trick would be. also a double switch. probably strat and LG know about that one
speedz: yah-hoy
me: I think someone has a new cattccchhh phrase
speedz: **** me
me: also me
El G: almost missed this one
me: hey. don't worry 'bout it.

Who doesn't love chocolate chip cookies? Here's the simplest recipe for them:

1 c + 2 tbsp of all purpose flour
1 tbsp of cocoa (optional)
1 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt (or a pinch)

Mix these in a small bowl

In a larger bowl:

6 tbsp room temp butter
6 tbsp brown sugar
6 tbsp white sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract (the real stuff)

Cream together

Add 1 egg and mix until smooth

Add the dry ingredients slowly while stirring. Soon you will have a gooey lump of cookie dough. If it seems a little moist (which is not a bad thing, but it shouldn't be liquidy), add a little flour BUT NOT TOO MUCH! CAREFUL!

Add 1 c of chocolate chips and mix

Preheat oven to 375 degrees

Put cookie blobs on baking sheet...I generally get 15 nice sized cookies out of this batch, so lay out the blobs accordingly.

12-16 minutes later, you will have some delish cookies that are a little darker than normal because of the cocoa in the flour...
