Playig 1-2 down at the Borgata today after railing Daniel for about an hour. For some reason they were running the tourney in the new room without ropes, i was able to stand right behing DN and catch his hole cards without a crowd. Very Cool. I had about 260 in front of me with the villian having me covered. Middle postion opens for 12, Villian calls, i call from the big blind with 8-8. Flop comes 8 7 3 two clubs. I decided to lead right into the flop hoping to get raised by an overpair or a big draw. I bet 25 the orginal raiser folded and the villian smooth called. At this point I put him on exaclty a club draw, something like KQ or AJ of clubs. Turn 3 of clubs. Crap well i decided to slow down not wanting to get blown off the hand and to my suprise he checked right behind. River was an offsuit 5 and I ended up check folding to his 75 dollar river bet. Did I play this hand to passive, should I have lead out on the turn or check called a bet hoping to fill up on the river. Villain was fairly aggressive when he had the lead but tended to slow play big hands.

You folded a full house, why exactly? You had the second nuts.

Reads are important.

Not betting the turn is pretty bad though, IMO.

You can reasses if he raises you if you have the right price to draw to your boat.
