I do not know enough about the commercial aspect of this. I want to see good poker and not an all in fest. When you have entertaining players like Kido, I would want to see a lot more of his creativity played out. This years WSOP final table was long and ends up on the cutting room floor reducing it to highlights of a series of Gold's monster hands. Why can't the blind structure of the WPT be more reasonable and maybe final tables be shown over 2 weeks on television. I think this would create an even higher interest in the programming. What is the point of having X amount of weeks televised and then 6X amount of weeks of repeats.
This is why I love HSP, it is the same table extended over weeks and look forward to tuning in week after week. Does the WPT do this because they feel people love to see the deadly "all-in " bet? , or is it the cost of production? I think it gives the wrong impression of poker and viewers don't realize that it is because of the blind level and chip counts that the players are left no choice to survive. How is Cho going to look with 6 3 off suit moving all-in to try and steal a raise with his position? Most viewers won't realize that he was basically forced to gamble to survive and it wasn't plays like that, that got him to the final table with 2.6M in chips. So, where is the happy medium for television and blind structure?
