Full Version: How Much Of My Bankroll Should I Leave Online?

Given the new developments im considering removing a big portion of my bankroll just to be safe. Currently I have about 6K spread out between 3 different sites. I play .50-1.00 NL and 22-75 dollar MTT and im hoping to move up to 1-2 NL soon.

I play my cash games at UB and FTP, and MTTs on mostly FTP and Pstars.

How much should i leave on? 2,500?

You're just as safe having it online as you are having it in your bank.

Like I've been saying in the other threads, I think the players who are long term winners are better off leaving as much as they can online, so they will never have to go through the hassle of reloading, but can always just request checks or whatever withdrawal method works at the time, when they want to withdraw their profits.

Yeah true. Im thinking about just getting checks sent from the sites when needed, the hell with epassporte and click2pay. I just dont want to get in a situation where all my money is tied up for months and im unable to get it.

I've had checks sent a few times. Easy as pie. But why not just have sites transfer your money directly to your checking account? There's no current issues with that right now.

I've always done direct transfers to and from sites with my checking account and it's been just as easy as using a third party site like Neteller. Obviously that may be a problem in the near future, but so far I haven't had any obstacles.

How long does it usually take to get a check?

Well, that's the only downside. I believe it took 7-10 business days. This was on Pacific. I think my Dream Poker withdrawl came a little sooner.

currently FTP is only offering click2pay, epass, and checks sent by mail or ups. No EFTs.

Depends on where you plan to go with the money you have left online. A $2500 will comfortably support .50/1.00 NL, but you will be slightly under bankrolled for the 1/2 NL game. This is all strictly speaking, as 20 buy ins for NL is regarded as a safe amount to play with usually.

Again it depends where you want to take it, and whether you want to risk losing the $2500 at the 1/2 tables, although it would take one hell of a bad run.
