I am usually betting this turn when its checked to me.
But In situations like this when its checked to me on turn i noticed he check-raises me me with QJ or QQ more times than he calls me with a weak J. (Of course this observation depends on a very small sample of hands. So it can be very well wrong).
So i decided to take this line to induce a bluff on river. If its checked to me on river i am betting for sure.
Any thoughts?

I like it. You could bet the turn, but if you think he will c/r a decent amount of the time its ok to see a free river.

I like the hand and I especially like the turn check / bluff inducer

Agreeing with anti and others, I like the way you played it as well if opponent is competent. Even if he is competent, you definitely want to bet here a lot of the time as well. If you respect your villain, then can you fold to a turn check-pot-raise? Check-min-raise?
The other thing, I definitely bet the turn here with top kicker. With 2nd kicker, I'll bet it, but less frequently.
