Villain is the poster child for donkeys. He doubled on the first hand when he called an open push with K9. He flopped 2pr. Twice he's called middle pair to showdown, and slowplayed TPBK by checking the flop and leading out the turn.

Ignore the river call. I'm positive I'm beat at that point...but called just to see what he actually had. No point in proceeding with only 300 chips. (Of course this means I should have just pushed on the turn...but hindsights 20/20.)

preflop and flop are fine. On the turn, I do anything but min raise. Against a good player I might even fold, but against this guy, I push the turn.
Footballguru
ya def. push turn in begining of a 180 here. NEVER MIN raise in these toruneys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Dont feel too bad about not pushing the turn, even though its the right play. With two overs and the gut shot, he's got a marginal call. With A/pair and a gutshot he's a bit short on EV but will probably call anyway. And of course if he happens to have two spades including the A hes got a mandatory call.

The preflop raise is probably a bit small, and trashing 330 chips at the end is a nono. Ive come back from worse.

At 15/30 this is 11 bb's . Would you call off 1100 at 50/100 ?

Yeah...the River call I guess would be a tilt. These donks get to me occaisonally.

He flipped A8o for the made gutshot. Not sure how you call the flop bet, and I really don't get the lead out and re-raise call on the turn with a gutshot. Yes, I should have pushed the turn...but I am completely convinced he calls that too. I know, 85% of the time he misses his outs and I make bank...but it still ticks me off.

Bad Beat Forum I guess.

You really are being too hard on the villian here. On the flop he puts you on a continuation bet, figures hes got 6 outs, may even be ahead, and that you may not bet the turn if you blank again. He's a bit short on odds if hes behind so its a shaky call but not horrible, especially if he thinks youre loose.

On the turn the board blanks, he thinks he can steal the pot and leads out. Then you make a (minor) mistake and min-raise. He's getting 5.8:1 odds. Lets say he puts you on 22+,A9s+,KJs+,A9o+,KJo+. Thats all the Aces that are ahead of him, and none that arent, includes your possible sets, includes all the pairs that beat his 8 if he pairs up. The only hands he's ahead against are the KQs, the hands that you kill him on that are left out are the long shot two pair hands. He is only a 2.7:1 dog and has a mandatory call. If you had pushed he's down to 3.5:1 odds..but still has a call.

Is a pot sized bet standard for a continuation bet? I bet 300 into 340.

As for my image. This is the first hand I've played since the tourney start. So 20 minutes and the only flop I've seen were from the blind. I know I wouldn't be playing A8o against someone who hasn't played a hand and suddenly open raises 5x.

In hindsight, I definately need to play this more agressive. It's a $4.40, so overbetting is the norm. 450 on the flop may have gotten him out. He's calling anything on the Turn.

A lot of the players in these 180's with call with Ax when all low cards flop, regardless of the size of the bet. Also, your image doesn't mean as much as you think it does.
