Full Version: How Do You Observe A Player's Habits When 3-4 Multitabling?

Willing 2 Die
I just started getting back into SNG's and away from the cash games. I've been doing well at the $3 turbo's, and the 27 and 45 man $5 SNG's. I usually play 3 tables at a time, sometimes 4 tables.

My question is this. I realize that observing your opponents past play and their habits is just as important as the cards you have and how you play them. Generally when i am playing only one tournament, i note everything about my opponents play.

However, when i mulitable, it is very difficult for me to keep track of previous opponents play.

First question: Is this the same for most people, and when multitabling SNGs, does it just become kinda robotic when it comes to the plays you are making (open pushing when your M is low, stealing, etc)

Second Question: What is the program that you can purchase to read what the other players call, raise, fold %'s are, and how much money they've won or lost for a session.

Thanks.

I havent been very diligent since I switched computers, but I assume that PokerAceHUD still is up and running. Its an add on to Pokertracker that lets you customize the statistics that are shown and updated live on the table display.

I highly recommend pokeracehud to anyone who multi tables. I too have had problems with keeping track of all the action. Sometimes i get a little frustrated that i cant keep up with everything thats going on and i lose a bit of focus because of it. Unless you just have a gigabet brain the best you can do is gather bits and pieces of info about each player. Try and check hand history as often as you can while your playing if you missed something like "how does he have 4,500?".

STTs are typically robotic play in general so this won't apply to them. it applies more to 45 mans

how about watching every hand and bringing up the hand history for every hand that is showed down?

then you can write your own notes about each player after each hand; betting patterns, calling habits, bluffing habits, etc.

if you can't do that then learn how.

This is what I have learned to do constantly while multitabling 45 mans. Practice, and you'll get pretty good at it. I am a lot more aware of everything that is going on now at all of the tables than when I began. (4 tabling on one screen with no overlap.)

I am starting to recognize a lot of the players and usually have notes on quite a few of them.

Johnny Bax in his interview on the circuit recently answered this question. He said something like "You really cant pay attention to everything when your playing 4 tables". It was a little more in depth than that but i was pretty surprised by his answer.
