So this isn't completely Television related, but it is Radio and there's no radio forum so:

I don't know if any of you listen to the Adam Carolla Show or have over the past year. They had a guy on there by the name of Dave Dameshek who did sports. He's been connected with Adam and Jimmy Kimmel off and on throughout their rise through the media ranks.

Anyway, the suits got rid of Dameshek and replaced him with Danny Bonaduce. How will we do with out The Jerk List and his songs about Cheechoo and Teemu.

This is a sad, sad day. While Bonaduce can be a fun train wreck to watch from time to time, who wants to listen to his antics for four hours a day. I feel a power struggle is going to happen. Hopefully it won't ruin the show in the process. It sure was fun while it lasted.

It's a shame to lose the Shek, because with him it was like a couple of buddies talking about whatever crossed their mind.

That's totally normal. When CBS/Infinity replaced Stern with Adam Carrolla they had very high hopes for his show to continue the same sky high ratings. Problem is, no matter what the morning show is, without the market being familar with a jock/show, it's very difficult to iron out all the kinks for at least a year. The fact that Dameshek was canned doesn't surprise me in the least. They can't get rid of Carrolla obviously, so they change everything else around him. My guess is you'll hear all new production by the end of the month with his show along with all new segments that weren't there before. The fact that they hired Bonaduce to go on the morning show only confirms the fact that this was an upper management screw job.

A few years ago, Bonaduce had his own morning show I think in LA somewheres that he totally screwed up because he was in and out of rehab. He couldn't control his baser urges and it got him, his show and his station in trouble. It's only gonna get worse from here I'm sorry to say.


But meh, not like it matters to me, my station's morning show is totally pwning Adam here in San Diego and that's all I REALLY care about anyway

I am a diehard O&A fan, but I won't mind listening to Adam when I head west.

Damashek was loud and abnoxious,but in an unfunny way. Much like Dane Cook. That being said, I also was kind of leery about the Bonaduce thing, but listening the past couple days it seems as if Adam and Danny will be fine, but Theresa is completely lost. I think she goes next.

Today, Teresa was teasing the news and said that an ex-Rams kicker got arrested for assault or something. Adam said, "I didn't know there were any black kickers in the NFL." Hope he doesn't get Imus'd for that.

adam does racial humor all time time... I'm not sure how he gets away with it, but he does. I'm sure he also was refrencing Imus with the joke.



That show with Bonaduce was utterly unlistenable. I don't listen to it much now, even without him. I miss Dave.

Yea, the other day a Mexican called in asking why he hates Mexicans, it was great.

This time, both Teresa and Bald Brian were like "uh oh", and they went to commercial. He's said worse things, and was obv joking kind of.

I have been listening for a few months and I am getting pretty tired of the rants that last for 5 minutes with Adam parrotting what Theresa JUST said .

She'll say: Like a guy at the swing.."

Adam will cut in: "It's like a guy...on the swingset...says the thing with the..It's like you're at the swing set...and a guy.."


If you bleeped out the word like his show would be 20 minutes shorter.

If you don't like the rants then Adam Carolla is not for you.

Erin Andrews was on yesterday in studio, and Adam said she was a 5. She took it pretty well.

I hate talk radio for the very reason that these guys just don't know when to shut the hell up. Ever.

What the hell, show's over. Listened today and he said no more show. I must have missed the backstory on Wednesday. What happened?

CBS has decided to turn KLSX 97.1 into a Top 40 station from its talk format. This is bad news and means we lose not only Corolla, but Tom Leykis, Frosty Heidi & Frank, Tim Conway Jr., etc. I really enjoyed having an all talk FM station, it sucks that they are changing it to some teenager crap.

Ridiculous. I only liked Carolla and Conway, although I only really listen to Carolla. I hope the podcast thing works out, however, I think Adam is going to be too lax on getting it going. I think he'll probably catch on the radio again somewhere soon.

His ratings were awful. He was only still around because a CBS big wig liked him. I was listening to a local morning show and they said they beat him by over 4X the listener ship in the greater Sacramento Area.

Ya I can see how he might not appeal to the mass, but I need me some Carolla.

Is losing tom leykis really bad news? I thought the rest of that stations lineup was brutally unfunny, and Leykis being maybe the worst talk radio show on air, it's like all of the attitude of stern, with none of the wit and humor, and the misogyny turned way up. And I mean, seriously, how many shows can you really have about women being gold digging bitches you have to treat like shit? Just awful show.


TACS show hasn't been the same since Shek left. That show was really brillant with shek and bruscia as foils. Bonaduce was just an annoying cancer on the show, bald brian needs to shut up and stick to board opping, and Theresa is fine as a news girl or what ever, but she's really boring as a "number 2". So they had less and less skits and original content, and more and more of Adam ranting on the same 12 topics. I like Adam, and will miss the show, but a change will do him good. Smart money is he'll go back to loveline. I know he said today on air that Adamcarolla.com is going to have a daily podcast starting monday.

wow, that's too bad. the carolla show was great. i agree with the thought that less tom leykis cannot be a bad thing.

I disagree about Leykis. It filled an entirely different niche from Stern and they had different audiences. It's not a humor show. He offered practical advice for men who wanted to get laid, and having a male figure who advocates men taking charge of themselves, even if the view is extreme sometimes, is a nice balance to most of the politically correct pandering out there. Lately he's been doing a lot of political discussion too. What is great about the show is that Tom is smart enough to argue his viewpoint against people who call up to chew him out over being bigoted. I think he probably intends to keep the show going in syndication somehow.

I am not a big fan of Carolla, I find that his ego barely fits in my car (I listen mostly while driving to work). Bonaduce is awful and has been even worse on his own show than he was on Adam's. But I did kinda like Frosty Heidi & Frank, and Tim Conway was a cool late night show, so I think those two are really the biggest losses since they just wont exist in any form any more. Conway even hosted a poker tourney at commerce every once in a while.

Ooh. No. It really is just him saying the same things over and over. Men don't want fat chicks. Chicks want rich men. Get a pre-nup. Etc. He's not "smart enough" to out-debate the callers that say he's bigoted/mysogenistic (sp)...they just only put complete morons on the air.

I disagree a bit, I don't think TL is stupid. I think he's just found a niche, and is exploiting that Niche. I also question how much of the stuff he says he actually believes. I think he's just pandering to the lowest common denominator.

Also, he shouldn't be congratulated for dominating debates with his callers. 95 percent of the callers to the show, people that argree or disagree with him, are either extremely young, extremely stupid, or both. Fish in a barrel action right there.

Well I do agree that he is repetitive. Definitely says the same thing over and over. But apparently there is no shortage of guys who decided to get married and have 3 kids at 19 years old.

I used to listen to TL when he was a political show.

You're right, when Dameshek left it was the beginning of the end of the best of the show, then Bonaduce came and I stopped listening altogether. The show as a whole maybe isn't all that fantastic, but if you podcast it you can sift through all the rubbish and redundancy.

I really enjoyed FHF and Conway. I've been listening to FHF and Leykis since 2001.

Tom Leykis can become repetitive but I think he was entertaining for the most part.

Hopefully, they'll get picked up on a different station soon.

Also, did anyone else hear Frank say that CBS was asking all the personalities at 97.1 to take a pay cut and everyone agreed except for Leykis. So, therefore they decided to change formats.

The last FHF show was pretty emotional, it actually made me sad. I do hope they get picked up by a diff station.

Yeah, this was on the final show. Granted they were pretty drunk, emotional and pissed but Frank did call Tom a fat bastard on air and even Frosty and Hedi were a little speechless when he said that on the air.

Listened to the podcast. Frank was pretty convincing about this story. DAMN YOU TOM LEYKIS!

dunno if you guys heard Carolla on the BS Report today. 90 minutes of awesome. I'll probably tune into his podcasts and see how it goes.

I don't blame them. TL will land somewhere, but FHF are headed to Frenso or where ever the ****, to be morning show hosts on a AM classic rock station ,or what ever the ****, I'd be bitter too

I never listened to his morning show but I've always been a fan of his. anyway, I saved the Teresa and Bald Bryan one for last as I was catching up today (DD, BS, and that one) because well I wasn't really interested. Well if this podcast is anything like the show, I'm glad I never listened to it. chick is annoying and talks WAY too much. bb at least doesn't talk as much and isn't as annoying but interupts at the worst times with things we don't care to hear. adam is at his best when he's got a sidekick or two but umm. yea. these two ain't it.

That's pretty accurate. Bald Bryan is horrible, and thankfully hardly ever talked on the show, he mainly handled the drops on the show and was pretty good at it actually. Adam always got irritated at Teresa for interrupting on the show, and she got better as time went on. She was talking a lot more on the podcast than she did on the show. You're right on though in that Adam is great when he's got guys like Dameshek and Simmons.

I thougth the dave dameshek apparance was particularly good, and made me sad. They should have had 2 more years of genius together.

Dan Patrick from 12-3 pacific is the best sports show. you guys should check him out if you want to listen to smart sports experts.

Thought I would give his podcast a shot and the show was really good. I never had access to his radio show but this is good stuff. "Hey Charlie we got hot 19yo girls ****ing us and stealing shit for us, cant we wait a year to murder people and see how this goes" ...lol

His podcast is way better than his radio show, imo. It's leaner, there's not as much dead weight ( *cough cough, Brian and Theresa cough cough*), he's not going on the same 10 rants he always did on TACS, he's not having to take terrible calls.

Rick Rosner on new Simmons podcast. Haven't listened to it yet, but this guy is incredibly fascinating.
