What a horrible, horrible, horrible way to eliminate a team!
A shootout? This is not the regular season where multiple overtime periods are not realistically possible. This is like having game 7 of the Stanley Cup quarterfinals decided in a shootout. Absolutely awful.

Canada!

Awesome game Toews is a beast. The game shouldnt be decided by a shootout...but it was exciting, and i think Canada would have lost if they kept going in overtime.

I guess I should have clued into that when they said "The only other time Canada had a shootout was against blah blah in 2001" or something to that effect. It makes sense now. Pardon my ignorance.

He did a good job of beating Price Twice and was the only D-man to shoot in the shootout. Downey's still a little ***** and he didn't even hit him last year.

Man, I'm still pissed. We should have won against russia today. We got the first goal and hit the post 3 times, before russia catch a lucky break and ties the game. With a better goalie then Jonas Enroth we would have won the game. I can't believe he got picked before Mattias Modig, who has had an excellent season with Lulea in the SEL. It's a disgrace.
I think Canada will have a pretty easy game against Russia in the final, as long as they don't get to many penalties. Their PP is absolutely lethal.

Ummm...yeah he did hit him, but Downie certainly embellished the play.

Why not just let Canada and Russia play a best of 7 for the gold, and have the rest play a tournament for the bronze medal.
GG though USA. They made todays game a lot more interesting than it should have been.
Bring on the commies!

So he's Mike Ribero Jr. He's going to get crushed in the NHL and I'm going to laugh when it happens.

He's a lot grittier and fiestier than Ribiero though, fwiw.
