Bodog .50/$1 100max NL

We're playing with the Button, who holds card_spades_8.gif card_spades_9.gif

No read on the BB, super quiet for 2 rotations. The EP has been at the table about 3 rotations, has been relatively quiet and in-line. On second rotation, EP limped in with 99 after a few early limpers, flopped a set on an A-high rainbow board (7 players saw the flop), and bet 75% of the pot on the flop and turn, showing the set on the turn after everyone else folded.

Hand:

UTG limps, EP ($79) limps in UTG+2, MP calls, button ($110) calls with card_spades_8.gif card_spades_9.gif , Sb completes, BB ($101) checks.

Flop card_spades_q.gif card_spades_6.gif card_spades_2.gif

Checks to EP who bets $3. Button calls. BB minraises to $6. EP calls $3. Button raises to $15. BB folds. EP pushes allin for $73 total.

Can we get away from this hand?

EP pushes following a check raise AND a re-raise. If he's not strong he's a donk, but based on your read of EP, that doesn't seem to be the case.

I'd have to fold.

Call, he could be doing this with a set or a big draw. That he flatcalls the BB's raise shouldn't be too worrisome - he could want to continue drawing without putting his whole stack in, but once you make it $15 more he figures to put it all in.

Besides, we've got a backdoor straight flush draw!

there is no way that folding could make more money than calling long term.

He easily could have top set here, or two pair or one pair for that matter...

Id really put ep on A icon_suit_spade.gif x. i think you have to call but this is a bad spot to be in

Smells like he's protecting a set. The only way to price you off the flush draw is to push. My 2nd choice is he's holding As 6o or Qo and you have 2 of his outs and a made hand.

You do realize that just going ahead and raising the flop in the first place is a good move, right?

Yeah, he might've gotten away from it then..if I had decided to raise with the card_spades_j.gif card_spades_k.gif that I held as the EP right on the flop.

Tricky, tricky.... yeah after he raises to $15, I like the push.

Was this a brag post in disguise?

Not really...was trying to convince myself that I could've gotten away from it, had I held his hand. I would've raised the EP's flop bet had I had the 89 of spades...and given some specific action I might've gotten rid of it on Stars or FullTilt....but I think not on Bodog.

This is my first time playing a lot on Bodog. You have to have some serious non-tilt cajones with this site when you do take a beat....I've made several pot-sized bets on the flop playing 100max NL and have been called with flush draws only.

I've made several pot-sized bets on the flop playing 100max NL and have been called with flush draws only.

This is the one area I have identified in my game where I am completely spewing chips. When I lose concentration I see implied odds that simply don't exist. I routinely call pot on the turn with a flush draw when the guy is betting half his stack. I call pot on a flop with middle or bottom pair to hit my 5 outer. That and too many pointless river calls ("do you have AA, or KK? Oh, it's KK this time. Cool. GG. IGHN.")

I don't know how I make money from this game.

i can say, having read replies, I am pretty sure I can get away from all this goofy action with 89.

I kind of thought that's where you were going with it. Well played.

you mean, having read results? smile.gif

With stacks as they are I don't think I get away from this ever. EP only has 79 BBs.

i can fold this, this action is too crazy. now lets have a J or K high flush then maybe I can have a problem folding.
