Or at least the top 20. When I think of an inspirational film, I think of a film that makes me want to do something after watching it. Like with Rocky, I wanted to be a boxer.

2 TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD 1962
3 SCHINDLER'S LIST 1993
39 STAR WARS 1977
60 THE KILLING FIELDS 1984

All good movies, but i was wondering where Hotel Rwanda is? If the Killing Fields and Schindler's List are on the list, i think Hotel Rwanda should be as well.

Ok nevermind i see it at number 90-i think it should be higher up.

I believe it should easily be top 10. After watching Rudy, you sympathize so much for everything he's gone through and all the effort he put into it. He proved so much to his family and everyone else. He put in soo much effort and played Notre Dame Football even though he barely had any athletic skill let alone any size. Umm he got into Notre Dame but busting his ***, because he suffered from dyslexia and wasn't that naturally book smart. Also it is one of the best sports movies of all time IMO. Idk, when I think motivation or inspiration Rudy automatically comes to mind.

Also how are movies like The Karate Kid, Cool Hand Luke and Ray soo low on the list, but ET is #6?

There's that other football movie, about that Brian guy. Brian's song? That was pretty inspirational.

oh yea, Brian's Song was very inspirational. It was my mom's (who is/was not a football fan) favorite movie but she loved it because it was inspirational

I haven't seen it, but I'd say no top 20 for this movie, regardless...stuff like Schindler's List, To Kill a Mockingbird, etc, put the "one man overcomes himself despite his <insert problem here>" in the dust. Of course, it's dependant on your perception of issues and whether or not the story touches you personally, so I'm not trying to take anything away from Rudy, but I full maintain that saving Jews and equal rights for the black man, etc, fall headn and shoulders above such a movie. And, yes, Hotel Rwanda should be higher.

Did the people making this list even see 2001: A Space Odyssey? How could this be #47? Chariots of Fire at #100 was WAY more inspirational! How the hell is this inspirational? There is 20 minutes of guys jumping around in monkey suits, 3 minutes of completely blackness to start the movie and 3 more in the middle after the intermission, and it ends with a blinking eye changing colors for 15 minutes. The only thing even mildly inspirational is the quality of the special effects in space, which are still amazing 40 years later.

Completely agree. I just watched this for the first time a couple weeks ago and I didn't understand what all the hype was about... except the special effects.
