Full Version: A Few Omaha Hands
FCP Poker Forum > Poker Strategy Forum > Omaha Poker

I've been a NLH player for the most part but first learnt poker playing limit / O8. I've read lots on Omaha (SS2, Rolf's articles etc) and watched the cardrunners PLO videos with the itent on taking it up. I've played it the last couple of nights and have been absolutely loving it. What a refreshing change from multi-tabling NLH on auto-pilot. I've been playing low-limts HA games (PLH/PLO rotation) on Full-Tilt. I've been running obscenely well which has also made it extremely enjoyable but I do find myself in numerous situations where I'm not sure of the best play.

Sorry if there are too many but here are a few hands tonight which I was unsure about. Beware, there may be some folds / calls that are horrendous here icon_hand.gif

Call or fold? I cannot see him making this move with one pair, and he is essentially all in here, so no implied odds.

I make a straight on the turn but the flush also comes, should I bet the turn, if I am raised it is absolute insta-fold (i think so but may be wrong). Should I bet the river, or would I ONLY get called by a worse hand, should I check call, as I did, or even check fold as 3 hearts on board.

How often is AA a raise (always, mostly?) I remember Lyle Berman in SS saying that it's best NOT to raise in EP as position is SO important in PLO. The flop sucks for my hand and I'm probably a dog to a draw, should I see the turn though?

An absolute peach of a flop, but the best way to extract (I know not to go broke if the board pairs)?

I'm sure that I played this hand badly, should I fold/call/raise flop, check/bet/fold turn? I think call flop, fold turn right?

Is this too LAG on the button with such a hand? Do I always check that flop?

Is this too loose a button limp? Best way to play flop / turn?

Also are the HA games much, much softer than the straight PLO games? I'm much prefering the PLO games but don't want to switch to PLO if I'll lose value and be a fish icon_biggrin.gif

Also what is considered a good VPIP/PFR% for both 6 max and full ring?

Many questions and there are lots of hands here even if you reply to only one it'd be appreciated.

I can't see what is what you should make a different thread for each hand mate.
