I am not really sure.

I sometimes call sometimes raise here.

I'd like to learn why raising is better.

This is based on no reading on BB.

If both of you are deep-stacked call is fine.

Since none of you are deep-stacked, shove is better.

The reason for calling is since you have position, if you miss you can fold, or when you just call, BB have to wonder if you are having a set and waiting to shove on the turn or not so you may be able to take a free card. Or if you miss the turn, BB pot again and you call, then on the river if you miss you can fold and save, or if you hit since the pot is built BB might not be able to lay down his hand. So if you do call make sure to take your time.

I am pushing because it looks to me that the BB has a set.

We are hitting our hand about 60% of the time, unless I drastically miscalculated. Because there is no flush draw, I think we are ahead in the hand way more than we are behind.

In my estimation during the hand, BB has AAxx here a good 80% of the time or more. Against that range, we're still preferring the shove, right? I was thinking the hand's relatively standard...raise/call pre-flop...call the flop if deeper...shove otherwise. Just wanting to make sure.
